Bury are still deep in the mire with just ten days to go until the start of the season but, to their credit, they’re trying.
They’ve made an announcement about their season tickets, announcing those who have bought can now collect their tickets although they’re trying to implement a new system.
That announcement, coupled with a youthful-looking side losing 1-0 at Prestwich Heys this evening, shows signs of life. They’ve recently agreed on a deal with creditors and they now look likely to make next season, despite that being a far-fetched scenario a few weeks back. They’re even hosting Championship side Blackburn Rovers tomorrow, something that seemed impossible a few weeks ago.
The situation is still dire; there is still a high court date and Steve Dale is still in charge of the club, an unpopular figure many supporters point to as a catalyst for thier demise.
However, at least there are signs of life. It’s going to be a long, winding road they have to travel before they’re anything like stable, but there are signs of life.
