Walsall are poised to sign former Yeovil Town winger Wes McDonald according to Pete O’Rourke of the Football Insider.
O’Rourke has tweeted the Saddlers are closing in on a deal for the twenty-two-year-old winger.

McDonald started his career at Birmingham but failed to make a senior appearance for the Blues. He enjoyed loan spells at Nuneaton and Solihull before securing a short-term permanent contract at Yeovil last summer following a successful trial.
He made twelve outings for the Glovers before picking up a hamstring injury which led to his release in January.
Colchester United, Blackpool and Bradford were all rumoured to be interested in McDonald in January before it became clear his injury would have meant him missing the majority of the second half of the season.
Our View
O’Rourke is usually a reliable source, so there could be some truth in this.
Perhaps not one to get Saddlers’ fans pulses racing but McDonald did impress at times during his stint at Yeovil.
His fitness might be a concern as he did not feature after November, but he was linked with some decent clubs in January.
It is clearly one of those signings that could be a masterstroke if it works out and will cost peanuts if it doesn’t.
Worth a gamble in our view and could be an astute piece of business by Darrell Clarke.
