Lincoln City have secured the services of Jorge Grant this afternoon, with the 24-year-old joining the Imps on a permanent deal.

He’s previously enjoyed loan spells with Notts County, Luton Town and Mansfield Town, with his most fruitful spell coming at Meadow Lane for the Magpies.

He hit 19 goals in 2017/18 as they climbed to the top seven in League Two, only to be beaten by Coventry in the play-offs. Last season Grant scored four for the eventual League One champions Luton, as well as adding four at Field Mill.

He got off to a tremendous start for David Flitcroft’s Stags, hitting four goals in five matches, but faded as they fell away from the automatic promotion race.

He leaves Forest after five years with the club, having joined after spending his youth with Reading and in the Nike Academy. He played 17 times in the Championship for Forest but wasn’t able to impress his talents on the City Ground faithful.

That’s led a few to celebrate his departure. Although the bulk of the messages on Forest’s tweet about him leaving have been good, there is a handful that show the less appreciative side of football fans today.
