‘Give him a chance eh!’ – These Port Vale fans react to return of midfielder to Vale Park

Ryan Lloyd has signed for Port Vale and returns to the club he left in 2017.

The twenty-five-year-old came through the youth system at Vale Park and made two starts and sixteen substitute appearances for the first team in his first spell at the club.

It was a far from an impressive spell which led to two seasons on loan at Chester and finally a permanent move to Macclesfield where he worked with current Valiants’ boss John Askey, making twenty-seven National League outings as the Silkmen won the title.

Versatile Lloyd can play in central midfield or on the left wing and can offer cover at left back if required. He joins the Valiants on a one-year contract at the end of his two-year deal with the Silkmen.

It was a signing that raised a few eyebrows in Burslem, and there seems little doubt that Lloyd has much to prove to the Vale Park faithful.

Most fans on social media seemed happy to give Lloyd a chance and hoped he would prove people wrong after rejoining the club.

Lloyd certainly won some over with his interview on the club’s official website which illustrated how much of a Vale supporter he is and how much he wants to do well.

Here is a selection of responses to the signing on Twitter.
