Sunderland defender Reece James has completed a surprise switch to fellow League One side Doncaster Rovers.
James, who only moved to the Stadium of Light a year ago, signed a new deal a couple of weeks ago but has moved on for a fee before the season has started.
He’s primarily a left back and he lost his place in the side towards the end of last season to Bryan Oviedo. Despite penning a new deal, he’s signing his name on the dotted line again as he agrees on the Doncaster switch.
Rovers have been rocked by the departure of several key players, one of which was Danny Andrew. Grant McCann has wasted no time in replacing him, with more new recruits expect too.
Whilst the move has come as a shock, Sunderland fans are not entirely unhappy with the sale of James. One is thankful he’ll never have to watch the 25-year-old attempt to control the ball again, which is where we begin our Twitter response round-up.
