Rotherham United have signed Wigan midfielder Shaun MacDonald on a two-year deal.
The thirty-year-old will officially become a Miller on 1 July when his current deal expires. Wigan released him after three years at the DW Stadium.
The Wales international made forty-three appearances in an injury-hit time with the Latics, missing the whole of the 2017/18 season with a broken leg. He featured only twice last season, both in cup competitions and including a start in the 3-1 defeat to the Millers in the EFL Cup.
He previously played for Bournemouth during their rise to the Premier League and also enjoyed successful loan spells at Yeovil Town where he played with Rotherham boss Paul Warne.
While his game time at Wigan was limited, it looks like MacDonald still made a good impression on Latics fans who quickly took to social media to offer a positive view on the signing for Rotherham with many feeling if the Millers can keep MacDonald fit they will have made a great signing.
