Doncaster Rovers were knocked out of the play-offs last night in a thrilling encounter at The Valley which ended up being settled by spot kicks.
They trailed 2-1 from the first leg, then conceded early to go 3-1 behind in the tie. In a show of extreme resilience, they battled back with Tommy Rowe making it 1-1, or 3-2 over the two legs.
In the final minutes of the game, Andy Butler levelled the tie and in extra time, John Marquis gave them the lead and a chance to go to Wembley. Minutes after that Darren Pratley scored for Charlton to bring a breathless crowd to the edge of their seats as they entered a penalty shoot out.
Charlton won that 4-3, but Doncaster certainly did themselves proud.
One player who impressed immensely for Grant McCann’s side was flying winger Mallik Wilkes. He’s been superb for them all season and turned on the style in front of 24,000 fans and the TV cameras. He’s on loan from Leeds United and their fans were watching closely for signs he might make it in the Championship next year.
As you’ll read below, they were not disappointed.
Malik Wilks surely has a role to play for #LUFC next season. Excited to see what he can do in the Championship.

There are some players you know wont cut it at a higher level. As a Donny fan Wilks is not one of them.Believe me Leeds fans when i say you have got a gem in him you really have.when he cuts in from the wing he terrifies defenders.
