Bury’s Tom Miller looks likely to be leaving the club after blasting the chairman on Twitter this weekend.
The former Carlisle man tweeted his anger at not being paid, asking if anyone had seen the chairman, Steve Dale, or if he intended to pay his players.
He followed that up with a series of emojis, amongst which was a couple of clown faces and cowboy hats.
Miller has been down the pecking order at Bury this season, but is an accomplished Football League defender who is well regarded at most of his former clubs. His angry post brought lots of fans to Twitter to lash out at him or his treatment.
Bury are in serious financial trouble, the clubs future is up in the air and they could be put out of business at the High Court this week as they face their adjourned hearing from last month.
It’s a dire situation to be in, but that’s not the problem of the players who performed diligently despite the off field troubles. They’re now facing a summer with mortgages to pay and mouths to feed, prompting Miller’s angry social media post.
Here’s how some fans reacted.
I guess u will be looking for a new job after that tweet Tom ?????♂️??♂️??????

And your club even got parachute payments when you got relegated. Terrible mismanagement or throw everything at getting straight back up. Feel for the players and staff who are always the ones to lose out.

So sorry you and all the other players and staff are having to go through this, it’s a farce and the good name of Bury Football Club is being dragged through the mud. I hope you get sorted soon whether it’s with us or not.

As part of the Fit and Proper Persons Test the EFL should demand that any proposed new owner lodge with them a bond equal to 3 times the total wage bill. Then if they can't pay the wages staff will get paid. Might discourage some of the conmen currently killing our clubs

It’s truly shocking how you guys have been treated, it’s embarrassing as a supporter and I feel for everyone. The sooner he now leaves the better so we can get our great club back, thank you for all your efforts in gaining promotion, how you all kept going is true testament UTS

This shows up the bad taste that the Nevilles have left by throwing money at Salford like it’s a new toy rather than supporting their late Dad’s club.
