Notts County are embroiled in a battle for their league status at present, bottom of the Football League and one of three teams still likely to drop into the National League.
Along with Macclesfield and Yeovil, the Magpies are fighting for their lives, but if recent footage is anything to go by, they might have some salvation waiting in the reserves.
They posted footage of their second string banging in five goals at Cheapside, the training ground of Grimsby Town. The 25% of the total they’ve scored at home all season, which has prompted fans to suggest perhaps a few of the players should be given a chance.
Woeful County were thrashed 3-0 at Crewe this weekend to leave them 24th, two points adrift of Macclesfield in the last position of safety, their goal difference is far worse than their rivals, meaning they need wins between now and the end of the month.
They host promotion-chasing MK Dons this weekend and the feeling amongst some of their supporters is that the second string could do a job in the first XI this weekend, even if goal number two didn’t impress one Twitter user.
