Tranmere Rovers made it an incredible seven League Two wins in a row on Saturday with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat of Carlisle United at Prenton Park.
Goals from Banks, Norwood and Monthe moved fifth-placed Tranmere to within four points of Bury in third and left the Super White Army dreaming of automatic promotion.
Defeat for Carlisle meant they have only won one of their last ten games, form which has seen them drop out of the playoff places and pile the pressure on manager Steven Pressley, who was appointed in January following the resignation of John Sheridan.
When the former Scotland defender took over on a deal until the end of the season, the Cumbrians were just three points off an automatic promotion spot. However, Pressley has so far only managed three wins in twelve games, form which has seen supporters hopes of a return to League One dashed and left them calling for his sacking from the terraces during Saturday’s match.
The reaction to the result on social media also left the club in no doubt that fans had lost patience with the former Coventry City manager. Here is a selection of their responses on Twitter.
