Charlton Athletic shared a 0-0 draw with Bristol, Rovers this afternoon in a game that all-but ends their aspirations of a top two finish.
The Addicks made five changes to the side despite winning twice in the last seven days. Tricky midfielder Joe Aribo sat out, as did powerful centre-half Naby Sarr.
Those changes had a cost, with Lee Bowyer’s side looking comfortable but never truly threatening against relegation-haunted Rovers.
The Gas will be delighted with a point, although just two points separate 21st and 13th in a tightly-knit table.
That won’t worry Charlton who are seemingly set for the play-offs despite there still being eight matches to play. They’re eight points off second place now, but eleven clear of seventh.
There’s a certain apathy building amongst some fans on Twitter though, who feel today was very mkuch a case of a chance missed…
That top two push lasted almost as long as spurs push for the title

Not good enough. Might ofhad a clean sheet but dont remember creating too much. I say it most weeks but problem now is where are the goals coming from.
