Crewe Alexandra will be without defender Perry Ng this weekend as they face a daunting trip to Sincil Bank.
The Railwaymen beat Lincoln 4-1 in the same fixture last season, but have struggled for goals on their travels this time around. Even more worrying is the injury to Ng, who has impressed in the heart of their defence.
Michael Haynes may be given a chance to start, he scored at both ends of the field in the clash with the Imps at Gresty Road last November, but the likely outcome is that Nicky Hunt will once again deputise.
Hunt helped David Artell’s side to a rare clean-sheet against Swindon at the weekend and the former Bolton Wanderers, Accrington Stanley and Leyton Orient man is the most likely to feature again if Ng is not fit enough to travel.
Crewe will also be without long-term absentees, Paul Green and Eddie Nolan, although Harry Pickering is in line for a recall after recovering from his recent spell on the side lines.
Our View
Crewe will be hoping to be as strong as possible against a Lincoln side beaten at Tranmere in midweek. The two games between the sides ended 4-1 last season, each humbled on their own turf.
A repeat of that result on Saturday would send shock waves through the division.
