Mansfield Town defender still suffering concussion, a fortnight after the initial injury

Mansfield Town defender Matt Preston has still not recovered from the concussion he suffered at Yeovil on 11th August.

The 23-year old followed David Flitcroft from Swindon Town, making his last appearance for the Robins against the Stags in February.

He’s made just two appearances for his new club, scoring against Yeovil before suffering his knock.

“He has to go for a scan this week, then there is an FA protocol you have got to adhere to, which is right and proper,” David Flitcroft told local press. “We are hoping towards the back end of next week we are going to have involved in what we are doing again. But we can’t say until the scan is confirmed.”

His current side sit 13th in the early League Two table, having won one and drawn four of their opening fixtures.

Our View

Once the Stags find a way to convert draws to wins, they might be dangerous.

At the minute things aren’t going their way and that includes the injury to Preston.
