Blackpool are looking likely to land the signature of former Blackburn Rovers winger Liam Feeney, according to HITC.
He’s made over 400 senior appearances in his career to date, 121 of which came with Bournemouth before their rise through the divisions. He last appeared at Dean Court in 2012, shortly before securing a switch to Championship side Millwall.
Feeney spent last season on loan at Cardiff City, where he helped Neil Warnock’s men win promotion to the Premier League with 16 appearances.
Blackpool are currently tenth in League One, having won one and drawn two of their opening four games. Terry McPhillips is currently overseeing first team affairs, but has no interest in the role on a full-time basis.
Our View
Feeney is surely too good for League One? He didn’t look out of place at Cardiff and a move to the third-tier seems inconceivable at this stage in his career.
Despite the off field problems, the Tangerines are thriving once again and look capable of getting back in the Championship, if they add some quality ahead of next Thursday’s deadline.
