Our Three Predictions For Sheffield United vs Norwich City
- First Prediction:Â Sheffield United To Win – 4/6
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 8/11
- Third Prediction:Â Over 2.5 Goals – 8/11
First Prediction For Sheffield United vs Norwich City – Sheffield United To Win – 4/6
Sheffield United are a team that are flying at the moment. After returning to the club in September following the failed Ruben Selles experiment, Chris Wilder inherited a team short on confidence.
As such, it took a while to get going but the majority of these players were Wilder’s and it was a case if when, not if, things would click again. In short, their last 4 games have been phenomenal. Three clean sheets, 13 goals scored and 12 points out of 12 has seen the Blades move out of the relegation places into 18th.
As for Norwich, relegation to League One is starting to look more realistic with each passing week. After replacing Liam Manning with Philippe Clement, the former Rangers boss started to improve their fortunes.
The Canaries picked up their first home points of the season with a 1-1 draw against Oxford United before a 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at the end of last month. However, they lost on the road to Watford at the weekend, which was their fifth successive away defeat.Â
Second Prediction For Sheffield United vs Norwich City – Both Teams To Score – 8/11
This is a prediction aimed very much at the away side rather than the home one. Sheffield United rank bottom of the Championship when it comes to both teams scoring in the same game, with just 37% of their fixtures achieving this outcome.
That is largely down to their form under Selles, where the Blades scored just once in 5 league games under the Spaniard. However, 3 clean sheets in their last 4 also aid their low percentage.
Despite their low league position, Norwich rarely fail to find the back of the net. As such, only Southampton have been involved in more games which have seen both goals breached.
The Canaries have been very poor defensively and haven’t kept a clean sheet since the end of August. With 6 goals in their last 3 games though, they’ll be confident they can find a way through Sheffield United’s backline.
Third Prediction For Sheffield United vs Norwich City – Over 2.5 Goals – 8/11
Although Sheffield United rank low in the both teams to score market, the same can’t be said for high scoring affairs. 58% of their outings so far this season have hit this feat, which includes their last 4.
Going back further, the Blades have been consistent here over the past couple of months. Eight of their last 10 league games have seen at least 3 goals, a run which saw 5 wins and 3 defeats.
Norwich are fairly similar than their opponents here, with 53% of their fixtures hitting this marker. This includes 4 of their last 5, the last of which saw them lose 3-2 to Watford on Saturday.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Sheffield United are starting to reap the rewards for admitting their summer mistakes. Owners COH Sports Group opted to part company with manager Chris Wilder, despite hitting 90 points and reaching the play-off final. Opting to bring in Ruben Selles, the ex-Reading boss lasted a matter of weeks before he was sacked, with Wilder brought back in.
An inconsistent start to his third tenure ensued, but he has found his feet in recent weeks, winning 4 games on the bounce. This includes impressive victories over bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday (3-0), Portsmouth (3-0), Leicester City (3-2) and Stoke City (4-0)
As a result of this excellent form, the Blades have moved out of the relegation places up to 18th. Although they remain 5 points above the bottom 3, they are also just 7 points off the play-off places.Â
Meanwhile, Norwich are looking like they are in increasing danger of a real fight for survival this season. They are 23rd in the table and 5 points from safety following Saturday’s 3-2 reverse at Watford.
Their plunge down the table saw them dismiss summer appointment Liam Manning in November, eventually replacing him with Philippe Clement. The ex-Rangers boss has overseen somewhat of an improvement, picking up 4 points thus far.
The first of those came in a 1-1 draw with Oxford United, where the Canaries conceded a 95th minute equaliser. However, they followed that with a 3-1 home win over Queens Park Rangers.
Sheffield United have dominated this fixture in recent years and are unbeaten in the last 9 meetings between the pair. This includes a 2-0 win at Bramall Lane in January. Norwich last tasted victory against the Blades in 2017.
Despite that, there is very little to separate the two teams over the years. United have won 28 of the previous 77 clashes, with the Canaries winning 29. The two have played out 20 draws, the last of which came in August 2024.Â
