  • 1st prediction: Queens Park Rangers to win or draw
  • 2nd prediction: Over 2.5 goals in the game
  • 3rd prediction: Both teams to score

1st prediction for Queens Park Rangers vs Ipswich Town: Queens Park Rangers to win or draw – 3/4

This is a huge game in the Championship, especially in the play-off race.

QPR have started the season well, if inconsistently, and find themselves 9th. That being said, any consistency would see thwm up near the top 6, but they haven’t fully hit their stride yet. They look good at home, but they are liable to put in the odd poor performance such as their thrashing by Coventry City. In this game they have the home advantage which is huge at Loftus Road, and that in itself makes them favourites.

Ipswich have been underwhelming so far after relegation, which contributes to them being underdogs here. They are stuck in mid table with a squad many tipped to go straight back up, and this game looks tough for them. Add to this the uncertainty surrounding Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna, who has been heavily linked with the Celtic job, and the away side look as though they may struggle, making a result for QPR likely.

2nd prediction for Queens Park Rangers vs Ipswich Town: Over 2.5 goals in the game – 17/20

This is likely to be an incredibly entertaining game, with both sides prone to scoring and conceding plenty.

The two teams play good, attacking football and have plenty of attacking quality at their disposal. QPR have looked decent up from though they are prone to the odd defensive disaster, while Ipswich’s goals scored and conceded record contradicts their league position.

For QPR, they will want to keep as much of the ball as possible to restrict their opponents. This is likely to be the basis of their strategy as they look to offer Ipswich only chances on the break, limiting their attacking opportunities, though the away team will likely still have plenty of chances.

3rd prediction for Queens Park Rangers vs Ipswich Town: Both teams to score – 8/11

This is a prediction which leads on from the previous one. QPR look decent going forward but shaky at the back, while Ipswich are more secure defensively with the better goal difference despite their lower league place.

With both sides looking to reach the play-oofs or better this season, a win here is crucial for both sides to climb the table, so neither side will play for a draw.

QPR will hope for an early goal and to hold out for the rest of the game, and will use the crowd to their advantage. The away side know they won’t have much of the ball and will need to counter attack, but they will have the confidence that they will score.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head

This is a massive game at this stage of the season in the top half of the league. Both sides have done well, but not brilliantly, this season and will want to kick on. That applies particularly for Ipswich, who need to get back on track for their promotion ambitions. A QPR win would be huge as they look to get up the table and defy many expectations, and home advantage and managerial insecurity will help them and hinder Ipswich here. All things considered, this is a fascinating match up.
