1st prediction for Coventry City vs Blackburn Rovers: Coventry City to win or draw-  1/7

This is a huge game at both ends of the table. Coventry have continued last season’s good form and find themselves top of the table as well as unbeaten. They have continued their frankly incredible attacking record and paired it with an improvement in defence, which is a winning combination. They are the highest scorers in the league by a distance and have conceded only seven, with the Sky Blues making a good fist of their promotion push. After years of threatening the top of the table, Frank Lampard’s side look to be a serious shout for going up this season, and have made themselves incredibly hard to beat with four draws already. It’s a different story at Blackburn, though. Rovers have struggled in the last few years and were in relegation trouble at times last season after a few years pushing for promotion. The Lancashire side have made a poor start to the season with only two wins and find themselves outside the drop zone by only one place. Valerien Ismael will be hoping for a win to help his job, but it likely won’t come here.

2nd prediction for Coventry City vs Blackburn Rovers: Over 2.5 goals in the game – 2/3

This is likely to be an entertaining game with plenty of goals. Blackburn haven’t actually been that bad at the back with only eleven conceded, but they have been poor going forwards. This will likely be an open game though, and they will have to take chances on the break. On the contrary, Coventry have scored a whopping 27 already, often scoring three or more in a single game. They can really blow opponents away when they get going, and this may be another one of those games. Their strength and Blackburn’s current position lend themselves to a high-scoring game with Coventry likely relishing their chances. Their abundance of attacking talent look to have the beating of Blackburn’s weakened defence, and barring an off day for the home side, this will lead to goals.

3rd prediction for Coventry City vs Blackburn Rovers: Both teams to score – No – 21/20

This is a prediction which leads on from the previous one. Coventry look unbelievable in attack while being solid, whereas Blackburn are uninspiring in both departments. Coventry’s goal difference of 20 points to their credentials this season, and they will see this as a chance to really hammer their opponent. The away side have not been horrific despite their league position, but they will have to be at their very best to get anything here – even a goal. It’s likely both teams will look to this game as an opportunity to cement their ambitions going into the main part of the season. Blackburn will look to drive up towards mid-table while Coventry will want to keep their place at the top of the league. With the stats in mind, it’s clear there will be goals but likely only for one team.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head

This is a massive game at this stage of the season. Coventry will see it as a chance to further their ambitions as genuine promotion contenders, while Blackburn will want to steer away from the bottom three. Taking form into account, Coventry are flying. They won three games on the bounce before the internationals, including a couple of thrashings. Blackburn are more inconsistent, though they have only won one in five. . All things considered, this is a fascinating match up.
