Our Three Predictions For Burton Albion v Peterborough United

Prediction 1 – Burton Albion To Win – 5/4

Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 4/6

Prediction 3 – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 4/5

First Prediction For Burton Albion v Peterborough United – Burton Albion To Win – 5/4

Using last week to gauge how this game will go could be a little unfair, but it did show the form of the home side. Burton Albion pulled out a stellar display to put Bolton Wanderers to the sword by the tune of a 3-0 score. A shock yes, and if Peterborough had played then they may have suffered the same fate as they were due to play leaders Stevenage. and add to their woes at the foot of the table. Besides that Albion do not have a bad record at home, having secured seven points now from the opening set of six games. Even with the week off The Posh may find this another dour trip, to add to their five losses on the road so far, against a buoyant Burton side.

Second Prediction For Burton Albion v Peterborough United – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 4/6

This one should be straight forward as both teams have had a poor start to the season, and have been leaking goals. Albion to the tune of 15, and Peterborough have conceded 20, with 12 of those away. So, with porous defences, the onus will be on how many goals they can actually score. Coming off getting a somewhat unexpected three against Bolton, the Burton tails will be up and could well match that number. Then again if United have done their homework during their week off, they could shut up shop, but that will only invite teams on. Balance will be key but with both clubs needing the points, this does look like a very open game with plenty of goalmouth action.

Third Prediction For Burton Albion v Peterborough United – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 4/5

Being a free flowing game and with both teas likely to concede, it will be a bust day for the scoreboard operator. Albion are decent at home with five goals scored so far, and riding a wave into this match. Peterborough have scored the same amount on the road, but have let in 12, that alone should spell trouble. With 20 goals scored between them in their last five matchups, we know history is also on the side of a high scoring game, and with both desperate for points this game will have goals.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Before pulling out arguably one of the biggest shocks of the League One season so far, Gary Bowyers Burton Albion had been struggling for any real form and consistency. In fact the split of one win, draw and loss, before the 3-0 victory over Bolton, just showed why the team is finding picking up points so hard in the early going. We are now though at a quarter point of the campaign, and this is when we are told that the table will start to settle. A win here will be important. Charlie Webster and Jake Beesley have three goals each, and will be chomping at the bit against a woeful Peterborough. Bradley Collins has in fact been their best performer overall and the goalkeeper will need to be at his best again to ensure a positive result again.

Poor old Peterborough United. A club that always shows so much promise but fail to deliver, It will be hard to see them make a pus for a playoff run this season given that they are rock bottom with just seven points from their opening 11 games. The postponement of the game against leaders Stevenage may have been a blessing in disguise, and the extra week off will have given manager Darren Ferguson time to gather his men and maybe turn a corner. Jimmy-Jay Morgan has been the one bright light on their season so far, with three goals, and Peter Kioso, the 26 year old form DR Congo is also playing at a higher level than his teammates. They need help though. At the back 19 year old George Nevett is outplaying some of his more senior teammates.
