Our Three Predictions For Tranmere Rovers vs Barnet

  • First Prediction: Double Chance – Barnet or Draw – 4/11
  • Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 8/11
  • Third Prediction: Tranmere Rovers To Score – 4/11

First Prediction For Tranmere Rovers vs Barnet – Double Chance – Barnet or Draw – 4/11

Tranmere aren’t in great form at the moment and haven’t won since beating Crawley Town 2-0 in August. Their 3-3 draw with Bromley last weekend extended their winless run to six, but they have been relatively strong at Prenton Park. Only Notts County have left Birkenhead with three points so far this season, with Rovers having beaten Shrewsbury Town 4-0 whilst earning draws against Gillingham, Newport County and Cambridge United.

Barnet may have started life in League Two slowly but they have recovered in recent weeks to move into the top half of the table. The Bees have been particularly good on the road and have tasted defeat just once away from the Hive. That game against Bromley in early August and since then, Dean Brennan’s side have gone four unbeaten when on their travels. This included three consecutive victories against Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town and Crewe Alexandra. However, they drew 1-1 at Oldham Athletic in late September. If you fancier a riskier pick, back a draw at 9/4.

Second Prediction For Tranmere Rovers vs Barnet – Both Teams To Score – 8/11

Tranmere rank amongst the division’s highest in this market, with 70% of their League Two fixtures having seen both teams score. This does drop slightly to 60% at Prenton Park, although that was due to their 0-0 draw with Cambridge United in their last home outing. However, that is the only game in which Rovers haven’t conceded in their last six in the league whilst they’ve also been in good goalscoring form.

Barnet will be confident they can at least trouble Tranmere’s defence, having scored in each of their last nine League Two fixtures. The only games in which they’ve failed to find the back of the net were their first two games of the season, where both ended in 2-0 defeats. However, they’ve conceded in three of their five trips away from The Hive.

Third Prediction For Tranmere Rovers vs Barnet – Tranmere Rovers To Score – 4/11

Only Bromley have scored more than Tranmere in the bottom half of League Two, a feat made even more impressive when considering they’ve played a game less than most of the division. In fact, league leaders Walsall have only scored one more goal than Andy Crosby’s side. Furthermore, Rovers have only failed to score on one occasion, which was the 0-0 draw with Cambridge at the end of last month.

Barnet have conceded in four of their last six league outings, although their two clean sheets both came at home. The Bees will come under serious pressure at times throughout the encounter, with Tranmere hoping to pick up a first win since August 23rd.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Tranmere find themselves in familiar territory in the bottom half of League Two, although it appears as if they may enjoy a more comfortable campaign. Thy started the season well, going unbeaten in their first four games. A 1-1 draw at Colchester United was followed by an emphatic 4-0 win over Shrewsbury Town at Prenton Park. Rovers then picked up another 1-1 draw, this time against Gillingham before a 2-0 win on the road at Crawley Town. However, that remains their last maximum points haul and Andy Crosby’s side are currently on a run of six games without a win. Their first defeat arrived at the hands of Notts County (2-1) whilst they kicked off September with another loss at Salford City (3-1). A 1-1 draw with Newport County offered a temporary reprieve but it was a return to losing ways the week after in an entertaining affair against Walsall (4-2). Tranmere enter this game on the back of successive draws against Cambridge United (0-0) and Bromley (3-3).

Barnet returned to League Two for the first time since 2018 after winning the National League last season. They initially struggled with the transition, losing their opening three matches against Fleetwood Town (2-0), Bromley (2-0) and Walsall (2-1). However, since then, Dean Brennan’s side have been in good form. This started with back-to-back wins over Swindon Town (2-0) and Cheltenham Town (1-0) before they were held to a 1-1 draw by Colchester United. A 3-1 home defeat against Shrewsbury Town would have been a major disappointment, especially as that remains Salop’s only victory this season. Again, the Bees recovered well with triumphs over Crewe Alexandra (2-1) and Grimsby Town (3-0). Their last away outing saw them draw 1-1 with fellow promoted side Oldham Athletic, but they returned to winning ways last weekend when they beat Accrington Stanley 2-0.

Unbelievably, despite both clubs being formed towards the end of the 19th century, this will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two teams. They did just miss out on meeting each other on a couple of occasions during the last decade though. Barnet were promoted to League Two in 2015, although Tranmere were relegated to the National League in the same season. The reverse scenario occurred three years later when the Bees dropped back into the fifth tier, with Rovers returning to League Two at the same time.
