Our Three Predictions For Huddersfield Town v Manchester City

Prediction 1 – Manchester City To Win – 1/10

Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 13/10

Prediction 3 – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 8/25

First Prediction For Huddersfield Town v Manchester City – Manchester City To Win – 1/10

The odds speak for themselves here and Manchester City are overwhelming favourites to win this Cup tie. Perhaps it is their gleaming reputation that tips the odds so much as current form suggests they are a team that can be got at and some are playing with no fear now. Huddersfield Town will have to do that if they are to get anywhere near the plethora of superstars that City have at their disposal. The last two away games for City have ended in a loss and a draw, but even with a much changed side they will have too much for a home side that has struggled for form in the last few games.

Second Prediction For Huddersfield Town v Manchester City – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 13/10

Despite the odds firmly stacked against them Huddersfield will fancy their chances of grabbing a goal, or two, in this third round tie. They have been scoring goals quite freely, despite drawing a blank this past weekend against Burton Albion. Four in their last two games, and hitting six past Newcastle United U21, so they know where the opposing net is. Given that this is a free hit of a match with nothing to lose, they may play and exploit any space that City give. We all know the firepower that the visitors will bring to this game, and even if they rest most of their big names, they will still have more than most Championship sides have, let alone a mid-table League One team.

Third Prediction For Huddersfield Town v Manchester City – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 8/25

Cup ties under the lights can always bring shocks, and even though some will play it tight and not want to lose the game early, there is always an air of freedom and a chance to give it a go against a big side. This might not be the giant-killing of the round, but Huddersfield will give it their all to try and upset the odds. Therefore expect a fast open game that will provide lots of action in the penalty areas. Town had scored 14 in five home games before being held at the weekend. City, obviously playing better opposition, have still managed six goals in three games away from home this season, and if those averages are kept up this will be a good bet.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Lee Grant has a chance to flex his managerial muscles against one of the worlds best coaches, Pep Guardiola. The Town boss will relish the chance to outwit one of the most lauded bosses in the game, but will also be realistic that his side have a huge task in hand to try and progress in the Carabao Cup. They will view this though as an opportunity, and could well use it as a chance to get the season back on track as they have had a little dip in form. Young attacking midfielder Leo Castledine may well use this game as a spotlight on his talents, and Welsh striker Joe Taylor could add to his three goals and may well relish this night. Pep will ring the changes to his side, and may view this as a lesser competition given what is at stake for his team in other areas. Still, they have a vast amount of talent that could grace most Premier League sides. They do have a great history in this Cup in recent times, so it will still be viewed as such, and with current form not exactly bristling, some players could use the minutes to stake their claim for regulat first team selection.
