Our Three Predictions For Hull City v Southampton

Prediction 1 – Match To End In A Draw – 12/5

Prediction 2 – Both Team To Score – Yes – 29/50

Prediction 3 – Under 2.5 Goals Scored – 19/20

First Prediction For Hull City v Southampton – Match To End In A Draw – 12/5

The two sides have not found any kind of positive form, and this has led to both languishing in the bottom half of the table, when in fact results have not been that bad overall. Hull City have drawn twice so far this campaign, both away from home, and their visitors, Southampton, have also drawn twice on their travels, with three stalemates in total. They need to find a way of turning one point into three, but Hull may just have too much resilience at home as they look to bounce back from two disappointing road trips which even though garnered a point, could have been better. The two sides habits for draws means this could be the most likely outcome.

Second Prediction For Hull City v Southampton – Both Team To Score – Yes – 29/50

Even though both sides have a taste for draws, they also have one for scoring goals, as both average just over a goal a game. Five games in and Hull have scored seven, with three of those at home, and the Saints have totalled seven, of which four have been on the road. So, scoring at the right end isn’t an issue, but they also have an unwanted habit of conceding too. the hosts have let in 11, and the visitors in this game, six. With that said, both will not want to leave the game empty handed so a low score could also be in tune with their current form.

Third Prediction For Hull City v Southampton – Under 2.5 Goals Scored – 19/20

Southampton are not giving much away, and that is something that a promotion hopeful side will want as the season progresses. However, they do need to pick up some more positive results soon. To do that they will have to be more clinical. With only six goals it is not the form they would’ve liked in the early going. They could be buoyed by the fact that Hull are conceding over two goals a game, but nine of those have come in the last three games, something they will want to arrest before it gets too out of hand, and their 20th position in the table gets worse. This could be a tight game, as both need the points and could well cancel each other out.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Perhaps as expected Oliver McBurnie is one of Hull City’s leading lights in the opening part of the season. This will please Sergej Jakirobic as his Hull City team look to stop a slide of three games without a win, and a drop down the table. The Scottish striker is is not the only one scoring goals, he is on two along with Joe Gelhardt, and the two are forming a good partnership. It is defensively they need to pick up, as far too many goals have bene shipped in the past three games. To do this they will need Charlie Hughes and John Egan to up their game again. Ryan Giles has been ever present and even with his two assists he has to be better on the defensive areas of his game.

Southampton will have started the season with high hopes of a swift return to the Premier League, but as we all know the Championship is not a very forgiving place. Something that new manager Will Still is finding out. His early strategy of being strong defensively is holding up, but they will have to be more adventurous up front. This means getting more help for Finn Azaz, as the young Irishman is still looking for his first goal. It in fact the defenders that lead the scoring as well as keeping a tight line. Ryan Manning, two goals, and Jack Stephens, one, are two players that will be the first names on the team sheet, but have to be focused on keeping the ball out of their own goal instead of being the bonus goal scorers that they are so far.
