- Third Prediction: Alfie May to score at any time – 31/20

First Prediction for Reading vs Huddersfield Town – Huddersfield Town to win – 11/10
Although Reading were certainly better last season on home soil, the strength and depth of Huddersfield’s squad this season cannot be misjudged. The club have certainly pushed the boat out in the transfer market, spending big, giving new manager Lee Grant a squad capable of winning the league. The Terriers did open their League One season last weekend in style, winning 3-0 against last season’s play-off finalists Leyton Orient, whilst their opponents lost 2-0 at the hands of Lincoln City. Although it’s early days in terms of league campaigns, the away side look like they mean business, and Reading last weekend were certainly not at their best. On top of this, Reading are winless in five, including pre-season, and you wouldn’t expect that form to change against a very inform Huddersfield side, who are no doubt one of the strongest in the division. If the Terriers are going to be up there this season, they need to prove they can win difficult games on the road, such as away on Saturday.
Second Prediction for Reading vs Huddersfield Town – Both teams to score – No – 21/20
The hosts have really struggled for goals as of late, with a lack of attacking options and recruits struggling to hit the ground running. In the last five games, Noel Hunt’s side have only scored twice in their last five games, and 10 times in seven pre-season games, which by many accounts, is a poor showing. The side failed to open their account for the season last weekend, managing just a 0.35 xG and three shots on target, and against a very defensively strong Terriers side, could struggle again. In Huddersfield’s last five games, they have conceded three goals, two of which came against Premier League opponents. New loanee Owen Goodman kept a clean sheet last weekend and will be hoping he can keep another one this weekend.
Third Prediction for Reading vs Huddersfield Town – Alfie May to score at any time – 31/20
If you want a seasoned League One striker, look no further than Alfie May, who has consistently proved at multiple different clubs that he can score at League One level. The club spent £1.2 million to bring him to the John Smiths Stadium from Birmingham City, and he is already looking like he’s worth every single penny of that seven-figure fee. The 32-year-old opened his account in the third tier with his new club last weekend, after being at the club for two weeks. The away side, and May alike, will be hoping to add to his account against a Reading side not yet at their best tomorrow.

Full Preview of the Game – Last Results and Head-To-Head
As mentioned above, the Terriers and the Royals had very different opening games of the season in terms of results. Whilst Reading slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln, Huddersfield beat Leyton Orient emphatically to claim a 3-0 win.
Both sides will be looking to improve on the disappointment of last season, Hunt’s side missing out on the play-offs on the final day, whilst Huddersfield finished mid-table in 10th. With new owners and less financial strife, the Royals will be hoping for a new era at the club.
Since 2013, these sides have met each other 22 times, in three different competitions, including the FA Cup, the Championship and League One. The hosts have pipped the away side for the most wins with eight, whilst Huddersfield have picked up seven wins. The remaining seven fixtures have ended level after full time. The most recent matchup between the sides saw a goalless draw at the John Smith’s Stadium in February.
