Doncaster Rovers host Bradford City at the Eco-Power Stadium on Saturday in a fixture that could have a huge say on the League Two title race.
Our Three Predictions For Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City
- First Prediction: Doncaster Rovers To Win – 1/1
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 18/25
- Third Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals – 9/10
First Prediction For Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City – Doncaster Rovers To Win – 1/1
With just two games remaining, it is Doncaster who have taken control of the League Two title race following a 3-0 win over Colchester United on Easter Monday. They became the fourth leaders of the division in under a month following on from Port Vale, Bradford City and Walsall. A win here will see them guaranteed automatic promotion, although a point would be enough if Walsall fail to beat Accrington Stanley. Grant McCann’s side will be eager to get the job done in front of their own supporters though, especially against a team that are also hoping to be crowned champions.
Bradford’s away record means that Rovers will be favourites. The Bantams have been fairly poor on the road all season, winning just five times. They also game up a two goal lead twice on Monday, when they were pegged back to a late 3-3 draw against Chesterfield. They have also suffered a blip in form at just the wrong time, winning just one of their last six league outings.
Second Prediction For Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City – Both Teams To Score – 18/25
Both of these teams enter the game in good goalscoring form. Doncaster have scored three in each of their last two games, whilst Bradford have scored eight in their last three, despite failing to pick up a victory. Monday’s clean sheet was just Rovers’ second at the Eco-Power Stadium since September, with Newport County the only other team to fail to score in Yorkshire in that time. Doncaster rank fourth in this market in the division, with 57% of their fixtures seeing both teams score. This rises slightly to 59% when playing at home.
Bradford are almost in a do or die situation when it comes to automatic promotion. Having surged up the table since Christmas, recent form has left them in danger of missing out on the top three altogether, with fourth-placed Walsall just a point further back. Although their aforementioned goalscoring form has been good, they’ve conceded nine times in the same period. This has seen their average in this market rise to 52%, although this increases to 55% when they are away from Valley Parade.
Third Prediction For Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City – Over 2.5 Goals – 9/10
Although this is likely to be a nervy affair, this is still a game where we can expect goals. The pair have scored 132 times between them this season, whilst the previous meeting earlier this season saw Doncaster win 2-1 at Valley Parade. Grant McCann’s side also see their fixtures achieve three or more goals more often than not, with 52% of their outings hitting this market. This also increases to 59% at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Until recent weeks, Bradford have been reasonably strong defensively, which is a main factor behind their relatively low over 2.5 goals percentage (45%). However, with the pressure increasing, their last three games have produced a staggering 17 goals. Doncaster will fancy their chances of hitting the back of the net at least twice as a result, whilst the Bantams simply have to score to maintain their automatic promotion hopes. This could be a goal fest.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Doncaster head into this game in pole position to secure promotion to League One and can confirm it with a win here. They have won their last two games 3-0, against Colchester United and Tranmere Rovers respectively. Prior to that, April had seen Rovers secure three draws against Walsall (2-2), AFC Wimbledon (1-1) and Salford City (1-1), although they did secure a 2-0 victory away at Cheltenham Town.
Bradford have slipped up in recent weeks, with the 3-3 draw against Chesterfield on Easter Monday highlighting their recent woes. They twice led by two goals before they were pegged back in added time, stretching their winless run to three games. They drew 1-1 with Tranmere Rovers on Good Friday, which followed a crazy 5-4 defeat at Swindon Town. They started the month with a 2-0 loss at fellow automatic promotion chasers Port Vale, although they recovered to beat Crewe Alexandra by the same scoreline. Still, the Bantams remain third in the table, just one point above fourth-placed Walsall.
Doncaster won 2-1 at Valley Parade in the reverse fixture in October and will be hoping for a repeat here. However, Bradford did win 3-1 at the Eco-Power Stadium last season and haven’t tasted defeat in this stadium since 2018. Overall, Doncaster have the stronger record in this fixture, having won 36 of the previous 91 meetings. Bradford have emerged victorious on 29 occasions, whilst 26 have ended in a draw.
