A big battle at the bottom of the Championship has the Rams host the Hatters. Derby County are in good form but are still in the thick of the relegation fight, and Luton Town despite a small improvement cannot move away from the bottom three.
Our Three Predictions For Derby County v Luton Town
- Prediction 1 – Derby County To Win – 13/10
- Prediction 2 – Match To End In A Draw – 19/10
- Prediction 3 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 21/20
First Prediction For Derby County v Luton Town – Derby County To Win – 13/10
Its crunch time at the wrong end of the Championship table and all points are a at a premium now, with home games vital for those trying to avoid the trap door to League One. Derby County have some momentum at home in their battle to stay up. They are currently unbeaten in their last four on home turf, and that run could well be extended in this game, and more than that a win could well be on the cards. They were on a three game winning streak and that was only halted with a very credible goalless game with Burnley. Luton Town have struggled all season as they try and escape back to back relegations. On the road though they have an even split of seven wins, losses, and draws. and they also carry a three game run without loss on their travels. A weekend narrow loss to Blackburn Rovers has set them back and Derby could well get the jump on their rivals in this game.
Second Prediction For Derby County v Luton Town – Match To End In A Draw – 19/10
The fact that both need a win means that both might well cancel each other out, which even though wouldn’t be ideal, it does keep them both in the mix with other teams. That will not be a consolation though. Draws though have kept both teams afloat, as they each have ten to their name so far in this campaign and those points may well be the difference in staying up. At home The Rams have drawn only four of that number, whereas Luton fare even worse with only three stalemates. It is more what is on the line though for the sides as neither will want to lose and allow the other to gain any pace in the final weeks. Even though in the last six games there has been only one drawn game between the two they have all been very tight games, so we can expect this one to be keenly contested and maybe the fear of losing could mean a rare draw is on the cards.
Third Prediction For Derby County v Luton Town – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 21/20
Derby have been a little more free flowing in front goal in the last six games with nine goals scored, and overall they are just over a goal a game average with 44 in their 42 played. At home they have scored 25 in 21, so will be good for at least one in this game you would feel. Luton will not want to let this game get away from them but they have one of the leakiest defences in the EFL with 63 conceded in total. Away they have let in 42, good news for Derby, and have only netted 16 themselves, but this game is of huge magnitude, and in the last three away days Town have scored in each, four in total.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head
There has been a marked improvement of late under John Eustace, but Derby County are very much in danger of falling into League One. Despite some good results and form, they are only three points ahead of their visitors in this game, and anything other than a win will keep them firmly in the mire. There has not been a standout goal scorer for The Rams this season, and that is perhaps a reason why they are finding it hard to climb away from the drop zone. Ebou Adams, the 29 year old Gambian midfielder has five so far and has been the perhaps their most consistent performer. Nathaniel Phillips and Matt Clarke will have to be on their game in defence for the remaining games, but maybe it will be the play of Scottish veteran Craig Forsyth that will see them over the line in terms of safety.
Luton Town have had a dreadful season after dropping out of the Premier League. They were many peoples favourites for a swift return, or at least a good fight for promotion. Instead that have languished in and around the bottom three all season. Matt Bloomfield did lead a slight resurgence but each time they take a step forward, they have a result that sets them back. They do still have good threats going forward. Carlton Morris is the most potent in front of goal with seven, and Jordan Clark has both five goals and assists from his midfield position. At the back they started the season badly, and still the goals get conceded, but Irishman Mark McGuiness has been solid most the season and will need to remain so over Easter and the run in, his
