First Prediction For Stockport County vs Stevenage: Match Result – Stockport County – 17/20
The Hatters can be confident of another home victory in their final midweek encounter of the regular season. With five wins in six at Edgeley Park, Stockport moved closer to rubberstamping their spot in the top six at the weekend, following favourable results below them in the standings. That has allowed a seven-point gap to be opened up on seventh-placed Huddersfield for the team with the fifth-best home record in League One. Stevenage have little more than pride to play for at this stage, but they are four games without a win since returning from Cambridge victorious last month. The Boro have two wins and two defeats in their last five away fixtures, sitting fifteenth in the away standings.
Second Prediction For Stockport County vs Stevenage: Both Teams To Score – Yes – 1/1
Stockport’s goalscoring has dried up as of late, only managing six in their March fixtures. They remain one of the better sides in the third tier for home strikes, though the same cannot be said for Stevenage who sit second bottom for away goals with twelve in nineteen. Despite that, Leyton Orient were the first team in seven games to stop the Boro from scoring last Thursday evening. The Hatters may be a little more susceptible at the back under the Edgeley Park lights tomorrow, with Ethan Pye missing through suspension. The County centre-half picked up two cautions at the weekend, which made it three red cards in seven for Stockport after only one in their previous 111 games before that.
Third Prediction For Stockport County vs Stevenage: Kyle Wootton To Score – 23/10
Kyle Wootton reached double figures for the season on Saturday, adding his two FA Cup strikes to eight goals in the third tier this term. While his goalscoring hasn’t been particularly prolific in recent times, ending a ten-game goal drought, Wootton tends to group his goal contributions together. He began the season with six in his first eight, then hit six in seven a few months into the season, including three in domestic competitions. After assisting in three consecutive outings this year, he added a goal at the start of February. Therefore, a goal on Tuesday evening could be a good option to bet on.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Stockport recovered from their only loss in March last weekend to defeat a resurgent Burton Albion on Saturday lunchtime. But that defeat to Wrexham has virtually killed any hopes of a top-two finish, with Dave Challinor’s side nine points adrift of the Red Dragons with seven games to play. That aside, their form this year has been very impressive, losing only once more since 4th January.
A run of five successive wins propelled the Hatters into the promotion conversation, though February ended in defeat after Neil Harris won his first game in charge at Cambridge. Before the trip across the border last Saturday, Stockport had won and drawn in equal measure this month. Victories over two sides in the North-West, Blackpool and Bolton, were separated by two stalemates in a week, coming against Northampton and fellow Championship hopefuls Charlton.
Leyton Orient will be well-rested ahead of their trip to Greater Manchester, finishing a run of four games away games on the trot. The fixture list had dealt them an incredibly tough hand, with all of those sides inside the top nine of League One, and the first test was the toughest of the lost: Birmingham City. But Alex Revell’s side gave a good account of themselves, losing narrowly but finally breaching the Blues defence at home for the first time in six league outings.
Another tricky test at Reading yielded an impressive point, as Carl Piergianni netted at both ends in a score draw. Last week, The Boro made the short trip to the capital to face Leyton Orient, losing by a single Charlie Kelman goal twelve minutes into the contest. Prior to that run, Stevenage had taken four points from nine available, responding from a loss to Huddersfield by defeating Cambridge. Their most recent home game was a 1-1 draw to Mansfield, coming over three weeks ago.
Stockport have a further six games to seal a spot in the Play-Offs, beginning with a long journey to Exeter on Saturday. Rotherham, who have just sacked Steve Evans, are the next visitors to Edgeley Park before the Easter period. That begins win a trip to London Road to face a Peterborough side who started the season with ambitions of joining County in the top six. Stockport then host a side that may still join them in those positions in Huddersfield, though the Terriers will need a big response to regain their Play-Off berth after being thrashed by Charlton. The season comes to an end against two sides who met at the weekend: Lincoln and Wycombe.
This is the first of seven games in April for Revell’s side to navigate, though they have relatively little to play for at this point of the season. But they will have an input at both ends of the division in the next couple of weeks, hosting Scott Lindsey’s Crawley before travelling to promotion-chasing Wycombe the following Saturday. Blackpool have rekindled hopes of a top-six finish, which may still be alive by the time the Tangerines travel to Hertfordshire on Good Friday. Consecutive home games against Birmingham and Rotherham end the packed month, with unusual dates for both fixtures, ahead of a final day trip to Bolton.
These two sides have a relatively brief history of previous meetings, clashing only six times in the past 22 years. Stevenage have won four of those meetings, including the first and most recent, which were an FA Cup tie in 2003 and their league encounter in December, both finishing 2-1 to the hosts. But Stockport have won and drawn the only two games played at Edgeley Park.
