Our Three Predictions For Hull City vs Luton Town:

  • First Prediction For Hull City vs Luton Town: Match Result – Hull City – 21/20
  • Second Prediction For Hull City vs Luton Town: Under 1.5 Goals – 19/10
  • Third Prediction For Hull City vs Luton Town: Half-Time Result – Hull City – 17/10

First Prediction For Hull City vs Luton Town: Match Result – Hull City – 21/20

Both these sides have had a resurgence in form that may just be enough to keep them in the Championship, if it can continue. Like several sides at the bottom of the division, Luton have a dismal away record, winning twice on their travels this season. The Hatters last success at Cardiff though was perhaps their biggest victory across any venue all campaign, but they have the second-worst away record in the second tier, losing 15 of 19. Hull may have won their past two at the MKM Stadium, but the Tigers are bottom of the home standings, averaging exactly a point per game. They are unbeaten in three though and should have just enough to edge what is likely to be a close game.

Second Prediction For Hull City vs Luton Town: Under 1.5 Goals – 19/10

With only 21 home goals this campaign, only two sides in the second tier have scored fewer times on home soil than Hull. That record has only improved though in 2025, scoring in all but one of their game in Yorkshire, including three against Leeds and two in their previous two victories. Luton average less than a goal per game on their travels, and have the third-worst tally for conceding this term. That doesn’t mean goals are likely though, so expect a one-nil scoreline either way.

Third Prediction For Hull City vs Luton Town: Half-Time Result – Hull City – 17/10

If Championship games were 45 minutes long, then both these clubs would likely be safe from relegation this season. Luton rise to sixteenth in that table, while Hull move as high as eleventh place. The Tigers are ten points above the bottom three, while the Hatters move well clear of the drop zone and have a points tally eleven higher than over the full ninety. This points to two sides that have dropped many points in the second period of games. But if Hull have the advantage by the break on Saturday, they should be more confident of keeping hold of it this time.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Hull have opened up a three-point buffer to the drop zone thanks to a strong March to date, beginning to reap the rewards of the work done by Rubén Sellés. The Tigers sit eleventh in the standings since he took over in December, as close to the Play-Off places as the bottom three with seven wins in twenty. Home victories over Oxford and Plymouth were strengthened by points on the road at West Brom and Bristol City. In terms of points though, Hull are no further clear of relegation than when they were defeated by Cardiff in their final February outing. That is thanks to the improved form of all the sides at the wrong end of the second tier.

The green shoots of recovery began last month, though February did begin with consecutive losses. It was the loss against Stoke that hurt most, defeated on home soil again by a side close to them in the table. While the midweek loss that followed at Burnley was to be expected given the Clarets’ ridiculous defensive record at Turf Moor. Their next home encounter once again saw them drop points from a winning position, again after leading early, but they did hold out for a point against Norwich. The Tigers then condemned Sunderland to a miserable week by winning at The Stadium of Light, thanks to a helping hand from the Black Cats goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.

Matt Bloomfield has had a rather different time since leaving League One promotion chasers Wycombe Wanderers for Championship strugglers Luton Town. The two sides may still swap places when the campaign comes to a close, but the Hatters have renewed optimism heading into the final stretch of games. Like their opponents on Saturday, Luton have had a good March heading into the final game of the month. Seven points from the last twelve have given them a genuine shot at survival again, sitting four points adrift of safety.

That gap could and perhaps should have been down to just two points as the Bedfordshire side couldn’t turn their dominance into goals against Middlesbrough. Play-Off chasing Boro’ failed to have a shot on goal but held their lowly hosts to a goalless draw. The Tuesday prior, Luton had recorded a huge late win at Cardiff, coming from a goal down to take the points thanks to Thelo Aasgaard’s late winner. Burnley also played and beat Luton, putting four past the sorry Hatters, though March was opened with a massive victory over Portsmouth to win for the first time in 2025.

Hull have a trip to Sheffield Wednesday up next weekend, before a visit to Hertfordshire the following Tuesday. Easter is more cramped than usual due to a fixture with Coventry on a Monday evening before meetings with Swansea and Preston over the Easter weekend. Potentially season-defining games against Derby and Portsmouth end their season.

Next on the agenda for Luton are league leaders Leeds, before two meetings in three are against potential relegation rivals. A home encounter with Blackburn separates trips to Stoke and Derby before Bristol City visit Kenilworth Road on Easter Monday. Coventry will be looking to seal their spot in the top six just five days later in Bedfordshire, before the Hatters end trip to West Brom.

Luton lead the head-to-head record in this fixture by five wins, thanks to their recent form in this encounter. The Hatters have won five out of their last six, keeping clean sheets in all but one of those games. Back in November, Mark McGuinness scored the game’s only goal just after the half-hour mark to give Luton the points.
