- 3rd prediction: Both teams to score
1st prediction for Sheffield United vs Coventry City: Sheffield United to win or draw- 1/4
This is a difficult game to call. Sheffield United are going extremely well in their hunt for automatic promotion, sitting behind leaders Leeds United on goal difference only. They have been favourites in pretty much every game they’ve played, especially at home, and this isn’t likely to change here. They’ve made Bramall Lane a fortress and while it hasn’t been pretty at times, they’re looking like they will make an instant return to the top flight. That being said, this will be a huge test against a Coventry side in unbelievable form, having propelled themselves into the play-off picture in recent months under Frank Lampard. They’ve lost just two of their last twelve and look unstoppable at times, but this game will challenge them. Despite their good form, the Blades are a different beast and should have enough to get a result here.
2nd prediction for Sheffield United vs Coventry City: Over 2.5 goals in the game – 9/10
There’s going to be goals in this one, but likely not a huge amount. Sheffield United are good at the back and decent, if unremarkable going forwards. They’ll have more of the ball at home and will have the crowd with them, and are likely to create plenty of chances. They will have one eye on defending though, so don’t expect them to be hitting four or five as they guard against their opponents’ quality. Coventry will have a tough time breaking down the Blades’ defence, especially as they will likely have less possession. They have great attacking players though and confidence is high as well as momentum, so they’ll certainly back themselves.
3rd prediction for Sheffield United vs Coventry City: Both teams to score – 18/25
This is a similar prediction to the previous one. It’s likely Sheffield United will score more, but with the form both are in, it’s easy to see them getting one or two each. Defences will be tested which may suit the home side more, with Chris Wilder’s side known for their organisation and defensive setup. Coventry have actually scored more than Sheffield United this season but their defence is much weaker, though much of that is from their poor start to the campaign. They do have quality in the likes of Haji Wright and Ellis Simms which will test the home team, but they may have to make the most of little opportunities. United may be similar though they will likely create more.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head
This is a massive game for both sides with Sheffield United going for the title and Coventry looking for a play-off spot, so any result will have plenty of repercussions.
Sheffield United come into this having cut the gap to Leeds United to goal difference only, so a win here and results going their way will see them to the top of the table. They come into this having lost only one, and won four, of their last six. Their last result was a huge one, a 1-0 victory away at local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
As for Coventry, they’ve won five and lost one of their last six, coming into this off the back of a 3-0 win over play-off contenders Sunderland.
This fixture, fascinatingly, has an even past. Both sides have won 24 times with 20 draws. It’s also even this season, as the reverse fixture was a 2-2 draw.
