  • Second Prediction For Port Vale vs Milton Keynes Dons: Over 2.5 Goals – 9/10
  • Third Prediction For Port Vale vs Milton Keynes Dons: Half-Time Result – Draw – 23/20

First Prediction For Port Vale vs Milton Keynes Dons: Match Result – Port Vale – 17/10

The pressure is back on Port Vale following their midweek loss to Colchester. This was Vale’s first defeat of 2025, so a response on Saturday is required if they are to get back on track. Such is the tightness of the League Two table that the side from Staffordshire still have the top three in their sights, but could just as easily drop out of the Play-Offs with a few bad results. Those sorts of words have been synonymous with MK Dons in 2025, though they still may have a part to play in the race for the top seven. Two of their final three games are against sides aiming to finish in the Play-Offs, or better, in Crewe and Grimsby. But their input in the promotion race this Saturday is unlikely to be favourable to Vale’s promotion rivals.

Second Prediction For Port Vale vs Milton Keynes Dons: Over 2.5 Goals – 9/10

Vale have only managed three goals from their four games in March, often proving to be better in defence. Plenty of their wins have been by a single goal margin, while they have only scored more than twice on two occasions in 2025, despite being one of the most in-form sides in the division prior to their midweek loss. You have to go back to 18th January for the last MK game to have more than three goals, when they were defeated in a six-goal thriller by leaders Walsall. Five of their eleven games since then have ended 2-1, the most frequent scoreline in that period. It would therefore be no surprise to see the same outcome on Saturday, just not in their favour.

Third Prediction For Port Vale vs Milton Keynes Dons: Half-Time Result – Draw – 23/20

In the first half table for League Two, just two points separate these two sides. Vale remain just inside the top seven based on their first half performances, though they drop a place and eight points. A massive 20 of their 35 games have been level at the interval, more than any other fourth tier side. MK meanwhile are six points and seven places better off, with six of their eventual losses being level after 45 minutes. While MK may not take the points on Saturday, they should be confident of going into the second period with the game in the balance.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Vale’s aspirations of a top seven place took a huge hit when they met another in-form side in Colchester on Tuesday evening. Rico Richards levelled with six minutes remaining as they looked to have taken a crucial point, but their parity lasted barely two minutes when the U’s scored a late goal themselves. That would have made it three draws on the bounce, following stalemates against Fleetwood and Harrogate.

Vale had been unbeaten in 2025, last losing back-to-back away games over the festive period at Bradford and Grimsby. The Cods were defeated on Tuesday evening against Notts County, otherwise they would have overtaken Vale with three points against the Magpies. But Colchester’s win has drawn them into the race, now standing just a win adrift of Darren Moore’s outfit in sixth. Nevertheless, Port Vale’s ten-game unbeaten run had reignited aspirations of a top-three finish, which was also aided by results in midweek. The gap to Doncaster stands at just four points, and Vale have a crucial game in hand.

A first win since the end of January last weekend eased fears of an unlikely relegation for MK Dons. While MK were well clear of the bottom two before last Saturday, their form had been dire in 2025. They have dropped to 18th in the table, a position which saw Scott Lindsey lose his job. The ex-Crawley manager had only been appointed in September, aiming to have the same effect that he had with the Red Devils last term when they recorded the highest ever EFL aggregate Play-Off win over the Buckinghamshire outfit.

But his time in charge has been pretty disastrous, and although a loss to Accrington followed two days after his sacking, a first win in seven over the Shrimps was a massive result. Four losses in five last month had ended MK’s campaign, while January was only narrowly better, thanks to three points in the first and final game of the month. Whoever takes over at MK Dons, which won’t be interim boss Ben Gladwin after he ruled himself out of the running, has a huge job next season in getting the club back into League One.

Vale have a hectic schedule left in March, with three further games to play following Saturday’s encounter. Two more home games swiftly follow against Morecambe and Barrow, before a huge televised clash at Crewe will go some way to determining who finishes inside the Play-Off places or even the top three. April is even tougher, starting with games against the top two before the Easter weekend throws up a trip to Carlisle, along with hosting fellow chasers Grimsby. There is also a visit to AFC Wimbledon to contend with.

MK Dons have had a fair few encounters against Vale, relative to their history. The hosts on Saturday narrowly lead the head-to-head with seven wins to five from their seventeen meetings. MK’s thrilling 4-3 away win in the FA Cup over a decade ago is one of only three games that have seen more than three goals, with Vale winning the two most recent fixtures by a goal to nil.
