- Third Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals – 1/1
First Prediction For Mansfield Town vs Lincoln City – Lincoln City – Draw No Bet – 9/10
This local derby sees two teams who are quickly seeing their season dwindle out. Mansfield halted a run of six successive defeats in their last outing, although they blew a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Blackpool. The Stags started life in League One in excellent form and looked as if they could launch an unlikely play-off bid during the early stages of the campaign. However, form began to falter in November and despite a brief resurgence over the festive period, they have since dropped to 15th.
Lincoln are another team that have seen their play-off ambitions all but disappear over the past couple of months. The Imps are a team that often don’t get the results their performances deserve, which has been evident in their last two games. They should have been out of sight against Cambridge United in their last home game, whilst a 3-2 defeat against Leyton Orient on Saturday doesn’t tell half the story. Although winless in four games, they showed during a 5-1 victory over Peterborough United last month that when it clicks, they are a tough team to beat. There was enough in their performance at Orient to suggest they can bounce back against a team that have picked up just two home wins since the beginning of October. Backing Lincoln on a draw no bet option will see your stake returned if the scores finish level.
Second Prediction For Mansfield Town vs Lincoln City – Both Teams To Score – 3/4
Mansfield may be struggling for injuries in the attacking end of the pitch, although a return to fitness for striker Will Evans has provided a major boost. The 27-year-old returned to the starting lineup against Blackpool, netting his 11th goal of the season in the process. Still, Nigel Clough’s side have shown their frailties at the back and haven’t kept a clean sheet since Boxing Day. They also suffered their biggest loss of the season against the Imps, going down 4-1 at the LNER Stadium in August.
Lincoln are a team that have struggled in front of goal, although the signing of James Collins from Derby County last month has given them a League One proven outlet at the top of the pitch. The 34-year-old netted his third goal in five appearances for Michael Skubala’s team at Orient, a game which saw the Imps have the ball in the net four times, where two were ruled out for offside. Like Mansfield, they have also shown they are liable to concede and have kept just two clean sheets in their last 12 games in all competitions. Four of their last five fixtures have seen both teams score.
Third Prediction For Mansfield Town vs Lincoln City – Over 2.5 Goals – 1/1
The two sides were involved in games which produced 11 goals between them on Saturday, whilst their previous meeting this season finished 4-1. Three of Mansfield’s last four fixtures have produced three or more goals, and it is likely we will witness another open game at the One Call Stadium.
Lincoln’s defeat at Leyton Orient has seen them fall 10 points off the play-off places, but they still won’t have given up on a top 10 finish. A victory here would set them up nicely for their home clash against struggling Burton Albion at the weekend, but there are still concerns about their leaky defence. They could need to score at least twice to pick up the three points here.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Mansfield head into this tie in the midst of a seven-game winless streak. Their 3-3 draw with Blackpool at the weekend ended a run of six successive defeats, which included disappointing results against teams battling for survival such as Cambridge United, Crawley Town, Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town. Nigel Clough won’t be happy that his team blew a two-goal lead against Steve Bruce’s side in Lancashire, although he will take heart from the showing. They haven’t won since the beginning of January, where they recorded back-to-back victories against Bolton Wanderers and Stockport County.
Lincoln are also in a run of poor form and make the short trip to Nottinghamshire on the back of four games without a win. The 3-2 defeat at Leyton Orient came of the back of successive 1-1 draws against Wigan Athletic and Cambridge United. The Imps showed they have a beating in their locker when they thumped Peterborough United 5-1 at the end of last month, although they followed that with a lacklustre home defeat against Blackpool. Consistency has been their biggest issue in recent month, but they will feel this is a winnable game which could reignite their season.
Lincoln’s 4-1 win at the LNER Stadium in August was their first league meeting since 2019. The Imps are unbeaten against their neighbours in four games, although they haven’t lost in league action against the Stags since 2017. That 1-0 result came at Sincil Bank and the 2012 FA Cup meeting was the last time Mansfield have beaten the Lincolnshire-based outfit at home. However, you have to go back to 2001 for the last time they recorded a league victory against the Imps.
