Our Three Predictions For Salford City v Bromley

  • Prediction 1 – Salford City To Win – 19/20
  • Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 3/4
  • Prediction 3 – Match To End In A Draw – 9/4

First Prediction For Salford City v Bromley – Salford City To Win – 19/20

After a good run through December when they won all four of their home games, The Ammies have not won in their last two games. Their good run through the Christmas period had them firmly back in the promotion hunt, but some recent results have meant they have slipped a little off the pace, Salford do have the eighth best home record in League Two, having won eight of their 14 games, and have outscored opponents 17-12. Suprisingly Bromley have the seventh best away record in the division, and have split their goal difference down the middle, 17-17. They have not won away in their last four outings, and they last success on the road was on January 2, a 3-0 win at Gillingham, but they suffered a reverse of that score on their last road trip, at Chesterfield.

Second Prediction For Salford City v Bromley – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 3/4

Salford will feel they can score in this game. They have a good scoring record at home as of late, scoring 10 in their last six home games, and overall they have hit the back of the net 33 times. They go up against one of League Two’s weaker defences, as Bromley have conceded 37 times, but away they have only let in 17, and are a much tighter proposition. They have scored more than their host, 36, and Salford themselves have not been quite the same since they had eight put past them by a rampant Manchester City in the FA Cup, not having a clean sheet since that match.

Third Prediction For Salford City v Bromley – Match To End In A Draw – 9/4

Salford have drawn eight times in League Two action so far this season, but only once at home, so this might not be the most popular of bets. However, they have drawn their last two games, and have found getting wins a lot harder since being found out by Premier League giants in the FA Cup. This would certainly seem like a must win game for them but that can often lead to frustration, especially against a team that can set out to spoil. The Lillywhites have 11 total draws from their 28 games, and even though not quite draw specialists, they know how to be stubborn against even the best attacks. They have had a run of tough games but got a notable 1-1 draw at Notts County just a couple of weeks ago, and have drawn half of their matches on the road this season.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Irish defender Stephan Negru continues to lead a back line that is need of a clean sheet to get Salford City’s season back on a promotion charge. After a fruitful Festive period, Karl Robinson’s men were in full contention for a solid run in the New Year, then they were hot for eight against Manchester City in the FA Cup and they have not won since. They did seem to have broken that run last Saturday but let slip a two goal lead against leaders Walsall, so this game in hand over their rivals becomes more crucial. Cole Stockton remains their most potent goal threat, having scored eight times, with two assists. Hakeeb Adelakun is doing his best to keep pace with his strike colleague and has five goals to his name.

Andy Woodman continues to prove doubters wrong at this level and his Bromley side look fairly safe in mid-table, and feel they have enough to keep away from the drop zone back into the National League. They will be wary to not be complacent though. Michael Cheek is joint second top scorer in the league with 13, so it is safe to say he is the one to watch in terms of any major goal threat. 22-year-old Kamarl Grant has been ever present at the back, and has even chipped in with two goals and an assist. Corey Whitely is one of the most experienced in the team, and also one of the most creative, his three assists one of the reasons why Bromley are good value for money this season.
