Bottom side Burton Albion travel to the Broadfield Stadium to face Crawley Town in a League One relegation six-pointer.
Our Three Predictions For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion:
- First Prediction For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion: Match Result – Draw – 23/10
- Second Prediction For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion: Over 2.5 Goals – 81/100
- Third Prediction For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion: Half-Time Result – Burton Albion – 11/4
First Prediction For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion: Match Result – Draw – 23/10
The recent run of results for both these sides feels very similar. Their last league wins came in the first midweek of December, while they have found recent games more disappointing. Burton have drawn three since their success against Peterborough, while Crawley have only yielded a single point following their victory over Charlton a day earlier. What is the startling difference between the two is goals at current, but both are on winless runs that don’t appear to show any signs of ending. With that in mind, a draw feels a very likely outcome given that they have only shared seven league wins between them all season across a combined 47 League One games.
Second Prediction For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion: Over 2.5 Goals – 81/100
Despite their difficult campaign, the Red Devils haven’t been short of finding the net in recent weeks. Unfortunately for Rob Elliot’s side, scoring seven times in two games last month only earned them a single point, and similarly they were dumped out the FA Cup despite scoring three times. Games involving the Brewers though aren’t particularly high-scoring, with the 2-2 draw against Peterborough the first time they had seen over 3.5 goals in a league game since a defeat to Wycombe back in October. But given the poor defensive records of both, there should be a few goals in West Sussex on Saturday.
Third Prediction For Crawley Town vs Burton Albion: Half-Time Result – Burton Albion – 11/4
If games in the third tier ended after 45 minutes, then the Brewers would have climbed eight places to sixteenth, taking twelve more points than their season total. Fourteen of their games have been level at the interval, while Burton have trailed just six times at the midway point in games throughout the campaign. Crawley meanwhile perform fairly similar in both halves, and therefore are just a point better off in the first half of games. Expect Burton to have the better of the first period at the weekend, if not exactly blowing the Red Devils away.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Crawley have played only once this year, losing 3-0 away at Barnsley, a result which leaves them five points adrift of safety but with a game in hand. They were set to begin the year against Charlton Athletic, who they recorded their last victory over early in December, before the game was called off shortly before kick-off.
Goals have been aplenty in games involving the Red Devils over the past couple of months. They crashed out of the FA Cup in the 2nd Round, losing a seven-goal thriller to Lincoln City. After the success over the Addicks, they once again lost by the odd goal in seven to Peterborough. Two defeats without scoring was followed up by another bonkers result against Exeter, sharing eight goals in a 4-4 thriller but Crawley had led 4-1 before the hour.
The Brewers have had a slightly more positive time recently in the third tier, but will have been bitterly disappointed to concede late against Northampton Town a fortnight ago. That left the gap to safety standing at a mammoth eleven points, and leaves them with an almost impossible task to survive in the second half of the campaign with Gary Bowyer now in charge.
With only two league victories all season, Burton have earned most of their points this campaign through draws. After holding promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town at the end of December, the East Staffordshire side began 2025 in the same fashion against Peterborough United, the last side they beat. On this occasion though, they let a two goal lead slip, and coupled with the defeat to the Cobblers, look set for a bleak few months.
It was a blank weekend for both seven days ago. Burton were shocked by local rivals Tamworth on penalties, in the FA Cup 2nd Round, with their scheduled game against Stevenage falling foul to the weather. Crawley meanwhile were afforded a free weekend as a result of their loss in the same round to League One rivals Lincoln. Due to Wigan Athletic’s progress in the competition, that scheduled fixture for Saturday 11th January has now been moved to the middle of February.
In the reverse encounter early in November, Burton ended a run of seven straight losses to record a goalless draw. The Brewers were still without a league win at this point, with Crawley perhaps fortunate to walk away with a point. Meetings over the years have been scarce, with just the three games, in which the Red Devils have remained unbeaten with the only win coming in 2011.
