  • 1st prediction: Salford City to win or draw
  • 2nd prediction: Over 3.5 goals in the match
  • 3rd prediction: Both teams to score

1st prediction for MK Dons vs Salford City: Salford City to win or draw 27/50

The two sides come into this game in very different runs of form which has somewhat impacted the overall course of their seasons. MK Dons had picked up under new boss Scott Lindsey but have hit a slump recently which has seen them fall to mid-table despite play-off ambitions. Salford on the other hand have done the opposite. They’ve won five on the bounce and find themselves a point off the automatic promotion places. While MK Dons will have home advantage and will prove a stern test as they try to arrest their bad spell, Salford are undoubtedly favourites.

2nd prediction for MK Dons vs Salford City: Over 3.5 goals in the game 11/5

This isn’t likely to be a game that ends goalless. There will be goals but how many is the question, and the odds reflect this. Both sides have found themselves in some high scoring games of late, most notably the home side falling 6-3 away to Newport County. Their record suggests goals, with 36 scored and 30 conceded already this season. Salford’s record is slightly less dramatic, but they will be confident they can hit the net with their recent strong run.  Thye have recorded seven clean sheets on the bounce, so MK Dons will have a job on their hands scoring, but you’d fancy Salford to get a few by themselves with how good they’ve been lately.

3rd prediction for MK Dons vs Salford City: Both teams to score 67/100

The main reason behind this prediction is MK Dons’ scoring record despite their poor form and the fact runs must end at some point. Otherwise, if we were going off Salford’s seven consecutive clean sheets you’d fancy them to be the only team to score but they’ve got to concede at some point. MK Dons are a decent side who haven’t been getting results, and Scott Lindsey sides are known for their attacking football. Given that they’re the home side, they’ll look to take the game to Salford, which is no doubt their best chance of getting a result.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head

This is an interesting match-up, with both sides in differing form; MK Dons have slid down the table while Salford City have climbed up it at an alarming rate lately, partly due to sides around them faltering. In terms of their last few games, Salford have won five of six while conceding none along the way, whereas MK Dons have only won twice in that same period, which also saw a run of three losses on the bounce. Both sides are, however, coming into this on the back of victories in their first games of 2025. Salford won 2-0 away at struggling Harrogate Town, while MK Dons won 2-1 at Chesterfield.

This fixture has only been played three times, owing to the relative youth and recent success of the two teams compared to most. MK Dons have won two of those, taking an entertaining double by an aggregate of 7-3 last season, though Salford won the reverse earlier in the season.
