Our Three Predictions For Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday

  • First Prediction: Match Result – Draw – 191/100
  • Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 89/100
  • Third Prediction: Josh Windass To Score Anytime – 59/20

First Prediction For Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday – Match Result – Draw – 191/100

Sheffield Wednesday enter this game in a run of good form having lost just one of their last seven games. This has seen them move up to ninth in the Championship, just four points off the play-off places.

Preston have only won two of their last 13 outings in the league, but only three of those have ended in defeat. As such, they have become somewhat of a draw specialist in a run which also included a point at Hillsborough. Their 1-0 win against Hull City on Boxing Day ended a run of four successive draws at Deepdale, showing how tough they are to beat on home soil. A point a piece looks likely here.

Second Prediction For Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday – Both Teams To Score – 89/100

This is Sheffield Wednesday’s second away game in the space of a few days, where they picked up a valuable point against Middlesbrough on Boxing Day. This looked unlikely at one stage when Boro raced into a three goal lead, but three second half goals for the Owls saw the points shared.

Danny Rohl’s side have only failed to score twice in their last 12 games and face a Preston side who have been difficult to break down. However, they have more than enough ability at the attacking end of the pitch to find a way through. The Lilywhites don’t score many, but have found the net in eight of their previous 10 fixtures.

Third Prediction For Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday – Josh Windass To Score Anytime – 59/20

Josh Windass has been in electric form as of late and will be looking to continue that here. He has found the net in each of the Owls’ last three outings, taking his season tally to seven. There is no doubting that they are a better team with him in it and it’s no coincidence that their form has improved whilst he has been in the team. The 30-year-old has also scored in five of Wednesday’s last six victories.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head

Preston’s win over Hull City on Boxing Day lifted them to 16th in the Championship and extended their gap over the bottom three to seven points. The victory also extended their unbeaten run at Deepdale to five games, with Bristol City the last team to take a maximum haul in Lancashire in November. Since then, teams such as Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United have all visited Sir Tom Finney Way and left with just a point.

Sheffield Wednesday are quietly dreaming of a place in the play-offs after recovering from a dreadful start to the season. With just one defeat in their last eight games, they now sit ninth and just four points off sixth-placed Watford. Danny Rohl’s team have had a strong December, beating Stoke City, Oxford United and Derby County. They earned draws against Preston and Middlesbrough, whilst the only blemish on their record came in the way of a 1-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers at Hillsborough.

It’s only been a matter of weeks since the two teams met in Yorkshire, with the game finishing 1-1. Prior to that game, the previous four clashes all finished 1-0, with both teams picking up two wins each.
