Our Three Predictions For Norwich City v Burnley

  • Prediction 1 – Burnley To Win – 73/50
  • Prediction 2 – Match To End In A Draw – 21/10
  • Prediction 3 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 79/100

First Prediction For Norwich City v Burnley – Burnley To Win – 73/50

Burnley have kept up the early pace they set in the Championship season and go into this match as slight favourites. They have been in and around the top two automatic places since the start and could go back there with a win here and other results going their way. Having kept clean sheets in six of their last seven games in the league they are clearly built on a tight defence with a knack of getting late goals to win games. This could be the way they tackle this game against an attack minded Norwich City team who have scored 10 goals in their last two home matches.

Second Prediction For Norwich City v Burnley – Match To End In A Draw – 21/10

A match in the mid point of the season that both teams will want success from but can often lead to frustrations as both will not want to lose the game, and subsequent ground in their promotion push. Both have drawn eight of their 20 games so far, so there is definite cause for a match to end level here. The Canaries have drawn five of those eight at home, whereas The Clarets have taken a point in three of their games played away from Turf Moor.

Third Prediction For Norwich City v Burnley – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 79/100

Norwich City are simply on fire at home when it comes to scoring goals. With a huge 10 from their last two home games, hitting Plymouth Argyle for six, and then Luton Town had four put past them in resounding wins. They won’t get as much joy from a Burnley defence that is one of the tightest in the league having only conceded seven in total. But with their push for the playoff places still very much on City will want to get on the scoresheet against a Burnley side that is also not afraid of showing their attacking intent with 24 goals so far in this Championship season, although away from home they have only netted three times in the last four, but Norwich have a leaky defence that has allowed eight goals in their last four home games.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Danish manager Johannes Thorup will not be happy with Norwich City in recent weeks as they have followed up two huge wins that put them very much in the playoff mix, with two lacklustre performances that saw them gain only one points – with no goals – against Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth, two teams fighting at the bottom end of the table. Spanish 23-year-old Borja Sainz has been a revelation this season with 15 goals already and will be the one to watch, especially for the Burnley defence. He, and the rest of the attacking play has been supported by the defensive play and assists of Callum Doyle and Jack Stacey, they both have five assists and have been a real asset.

Scott Parker was always going to be in the spotlight taking over the reigns at Turf Moor and largely he has gone about his job under the radar. Yes, the team is performing as expected, and even though they could have torn through the division as they did two seasons ago, this time around they are relying on a defence that just does not give up goals. James Trafford in goal has kept 12 clean sheets this season and is joint top in that category, and has an even split of six home and away. Of course he is not the only one that glues their promotion hopes together with young pairing Lucas Pires and Maxime Esteve being mainstays at the back alongside Connor Roberts. Josh Brownhill will have to be marshalled up front as he has notched six goals, four more than any other Clarets player.
