Our Three Predictions For Shrewsbury Town v Blackpool

  • Prediction 1 – Blackpool To Win – 19/20
  • Prediction 2 – Shrewsbury Town To Win – 12/5
  • Prediction 3 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 59/100

First Prediction For Shrewsbury Town v Blackpool – Blackpool To Win – 19/20

It has been a tough start to the season but Blackpool are starting to show some signs of heading the right direction. Their away form though is still something that need to improve on. This game could provide a platform to kick start that issue. They won their last League One game on their travels, a 2-0 victory at Bristol Rovers, and they also had success at Gillingham in the First Round of the FA Cup. Having scored five times in the last three away games their tails are up and will fancy themselves to bag all three points.

Second Prediction For Shrewsbury Town v Blackpool – Shrewsbury Town – 12/5

After a run of four consecutive home losses, as well as poor form in general, it was time for a change of manager in Shropshire. As often happens this gives a spark, and with Gareth Ainsworth bringing his brand of football, an instant improvement was had, and a 3-2 win at The Meadow against promotion hopefuls Birmingham City. The work is far from done though, and despite their lowly position of 23rd, Town will be thinking three points is very possible against a very inconsistent Blackpool side.

Third Prediction For Shrewsbury Town v Blackpool – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 59/100

The new manager bounce has helped Shrewsbury get back amongst the goals. Apart from when they put five past Crawley in mid-October, Shrewsbury have struggled in front of goal, scoring only once in six games. Then with a change of manager and new tactics they hit form again with three against a usually tight Birmingham. Blackpool have only been held goalless three times since the start of October, and one of those was a 2-0 loss at Mansfield at the start of that month. With both teams trying to move away from the drop zone both should get on the scoreboard in this crucial game.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

This could be another breakthrough game for Gareth Ainsworth as he aims to build on his first game in charge when Town upset Birmingham 3-2. The new manager bounce will need to continue and not be a flash in the pan, and a win here will give another huge boost to Shewsbury’s survival chances. Rock bottom when the change in manager occurred they are already one place better off. Goals will have to come from the old and young duo of John Marquis and Tom Bloxham. Aged 32 and 21 respectively the duo have struck three times each, and have been supported by Leo Castledine who has notched twice this season.

If it comes down to managerial experience then Blackpool have the ideal man to help guide them not only away from the relegation area, but also head up League One to the playoff zone. Steve Bruce has the pedigree, and his steady hand should lead Blackpool upwards. It has taken a while to gain some traction but the signs are there and a win in this game will do a lot to help that cause. He will be hoping that 21-year-old Kyle Joseph will get among the goals again having bagged seven already, and he certainly has a constant supply line with Welshman Lee Evans who has five assists to his name already.
