On paper, this looks to be a game full of excitement. Stockport visit the West Midlands in great form, with the goals of Louie Barry helping Dave Challinor’s side move up to fourth in the table. Only Wycombe and Peterborough have scored more and they have only failed to find the net on two occasions all season. As for Birmingham, their wealth of attacking options is well known and they have drawn a blank just once this season, a 1-0 defeat at Charlton Athletic in October.

As a rule of thumb, when Birmingham win, they usually do it by scoring more than once. St Andrew’s has also become somewhat of a fortress since they were relegated from the Championship. With Stockport looking dangerous in front of goal, it is likely that the Blues will need at least a couple of strikes to pick up the three points and with the likes of Jay Stansfield and Alfie May within their ranks, few would bet against exactly that.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Stockport enter the game in the better form of the two, having won four of their last five league games. This included an emphatic 5-0 win over Bolton Wanderers and an impressive 1-0 victory over promotion rivals Wrexham, whilst they’ve also progressed to the FA Cup third round. After winning nine out of 10 games between August and October, Birmingham suffered a mini blip with successive draws against Mansfield Town and Northampton Town before losing at Shrewsbury Town. They have recovered over the past week to pick up back-to-back victories in the league and cup and will be looking to get their title bid back on track.
