Despite their position in 19th, Bromley have impressed in their first EFL season. They started the season particularly well with a couple of early victories, but have dropped off slightly since. That being said, many tipped them to go straight down and they look like staying up fairly comfortably.
The same can’t be said for Carlisle. They’ve been poor since returning to League Two and at the moment look at risk of a double relegation. New boss Mike Williamson has failed to have an impact and his side have lost ten of 15 games so fat this campaign. On that alone, you’d be wise to put Bromley as favourites to get a result on Saturday.

With Bromley and Carlisle not exactly prolific in front of goal, this isn’t likely to be a high-scoring affair. They have only scored 29 goals in 30 games between them in the league, an average of less than a goal a game. The two sides also only have two wins between them from their last five fixtures each, so are in fairly poor form. Given this, as well as their positions in the league, it’s likely to be a cagey, tense game, with very little quality.

This is a game which pits two struggling teams against each other as they try to climb the table; it’s an unglamorous tie but an important one. Bromley lie 19th in the table having defied many expectations thus far, though they have only won one in five. Their last league game was an away draw at Cheltenham, which ended goalless. They haven’t won at home in the league since August, but if there’s any game to break that run, it’s this one.
Carlisle sit 23rd having spent much of the season at the foot of the table. Their return to the division has been nothing short of dreadful, with another relegation a distinct possibility. They did however, win their last game against Salford City, so may be working their way out of a rut. A second consecutive win would do them wonders, and may be the catalyst to improve their season.
The two sides have never played each other before, so both sides will be wanting to claim the first victory in the fixture.
