1st Prediction For Sheffield Wednesday vs Watford FC: Under 2.5 goals 21/25
Although Tom Cleverley’s Watford side are one of the highest scorers in the Championship, this encounter does not promise to be one filled with goals. The Hornets have only scored four times in their league five games after their strong form at the start of the season has started to fall away. The former Manchester United man is trusting 21-year-old attacker Kwadwo Baah to lead the line alongside the creative influence of Georgia international Giorgi Chakvetadze, but neither of the pair are natural strikers and they have never hit double figures for goals in a league season. This has left DR Congo international Edo Kayembe as the Hornets’ top scorer with five goals, though one of these came from the penalty spot and the other remarkably came directly from a corner. Danny Rohl’s side are one of the lowest scorers in the second tier, having hit the back of the net just 13 times in 12 games. Target man Michael Smith has made a nuisance of himself on occasion, scoring twice in two league starts, but experienced summer signing Jamal Lowe has only scored one league goal this season.
2nd Prediction For Sheffield Wednesday vs Watford: Full time result: draw 5/2
Watford have a good record against Sheffield Wednesday, having won four and drawn three of their last seven encounters. However, they have failed to win in their last six away games, losing to the likes of Luton Town and Preston North End, who are in a similar position to the Owls in the table. Danny Rohl’s team have also played more recently than their opponents as they played Brentford in the Carabao Cup, a competition which Watford had already been knocked out of, during midweek. Given Watford’s recent away form, there is a possibility that Tom Cleverley sends his side out with the intention of simply not getting beat and there is a chance that a weary Sheffield Wednesday team might not be able to take advantage of that.
3rd Prediction For Sheffield Wednesday vs Watford: Watford to lead at half time, Sheffield Wednesday to lead at full time 23/1
Although it is not in line with the first two predictions, Sheffield Wednesday’s ability to come from behind has not been noticed by the bookmakers and could provide a very fruitful return for those looking to take a risk. In each of their last two wins, against Coventry City and Portsmouth away from home, the Owls fell behind in the first half before mounting a second half comeback to win 2-1 and take three points back to Yorkshire. Additionally, in their last game, against Premier League Brentford, they were able to come from behind to secure a draw after 90 minutes and were a penalty shootout away from knocking Thomas Franke’s team out of the Carabao Cup. There is no reason that the Owls will not be able to show a similar kind of mental strength if they fall behind on Saturday.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head
Sheffield Wednesday are currently sitting in a respectable 13th place in the league as Danny Rohl’s side have put pay to any predictions that they would be in a relegation battle this season. That being said, the Owls are still six places below their opponents on Saturday afternoon. Having lost three of their last five games, Tom Cleverley will be demanding a good performance from his side at Hillsborough so that they can climb back into the playoff places and end their recent poor run away from home. But, this will be no easy task as Sheffield Wednesday have been in relatively good form recently, losing just one of their last five fixtures.
