AFC Wimbledon v Carlisle United: Prediction, Lineups & Odds (12/10)
Johnnie Jackson’s AFC Wimbledon aim to continue their good start to the season as they host Carlisle United.
Our Three Predictions for AFC Wimbledon v Carlisle United
Prediction 1 – Both teams to score – 1.70
Prediction 2 – AFC Wimbledon to win – 1.73
Prediction 3 – Over 3.5 goals scored – 3.11
First Prediction For AFC Wimbledon v Carlisle United – Both Teams To ScoreΒ – 1.70
The Dons have had some struggles in front of goal recently but bagged 4 in a midweek cup win at Crawley Town. They have not drawn a blank at home though in all competitions and should find the net against a Carlisle side that have had difficulty keeping a clean sheet this season, but they have averaged a goal per game in the league so far and have a habit of getting two when they do get on the scoresheet.Β
Second Prediction For AFC Wimbledon v Carlisle United – AFC Wimbledon To Win – 1.73
Despite having recent home games postponed Wimbledon boast a 100% record at Plough Lane this season, having won all three games, outscoring opponents 8-2. Those two goals conceded came on the opening day of the season, and have become very hard to break down. On the flip side Carlisle have managed just 4 points form their 5 games on the road. Those points have come in the last two games having lost three straight times away to begin the campaign.Β
Third Prediction For AFC Wimbledon v Carlisle United – Over 3.5 Goals Scored – 3.11
Wimbledon are averaging almost 3 goals a game at home, and will fancy their chances of keeping that tally up against a Carlisle side that is the joint-second worst in League TwoΒ for conceding, 19, with only Newport County letting in more. If this trend continues there should be lots of goalmouth action as United are capable of scoring, if not picking up wins.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results and Head To Head
The turmoil of the past fortnight when the pitch and stadium was flooded at Plough Lane has meant that Wimbledon have slipped down the table as teams have gained points while they were sitting idle. They have gained from their experience at Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup but lost away at Salford City last weekend. They will aim to put that loss quickly behind them and back up their 4-3 win at Crawley in the EFL Trophy with another goal burst at home.
Carlisle United ended a run of four straight league defeats with a 2-0 win at Swindon Town in mid-September, but failed to kick on from that. A decent draw at Colchester United last time out will have kept spirits up, but they are sitting just above the league’s two relegation spots after ten games and will need results to pick up or Mike Williamson will start to feel the heat.
A couple of keys to the game will be how effective Jake Reeves can be as he comes back from injury. He wasn’t his usual commanding presence in the loss to Salford and the Dons skipper is very much the main cog in Jackson’s team. For Carlisle it will be how they plug some holes left by international call ups and a shuffling of the pack as Williamson still searches for his best eleven.Β
