The Vanarama National League play-offs start tonight as Solihull Moors host FC Halifax Town at the ARMCO Arena with a place in the semi-final against Barnet up for grabs.
Preparation for the two sides has been far from easy after Gateshead were denied the opportunity to participate in the play-offs.
Over the last few days, Andy Whing’s side have thought their next match would be against: Gateshead, Barnet and Halifax at different points.
The Moors come into the tie in good form, having won four of their five games this month. However, it should be noted that three of these wins came against sides who finished in 16th place or lower in the league. Chris Millington’s side will be happy that they have avoided facing Altrincham in the quarter-finals as they are the form side heading into the playoffs.
The Shaymen’s form has been mixed recently, but a 3-0 win away at Eastleigh on the final day of the season will give the Yorkshire men confidence.
With that in mind, here is how two of The Real EFL’s writing team see the game panning out.
Aryan Jolly
“Other than Chesterfield at the top, the National League promotion race has been very tight once again this season. That being said, home advantage should be enough to see Solihull through in this encounter.
“Halifax are a very defensively solid team and they will not mind letting the home side control the ball whilst they play on the break. But, the individual quality of players like Tahvon Campbell and Jamey Osborne might be too much for them to withstand, especially given how congested their fixtures have been recently.”

Brandon Donner
“Halifax should suit play-off football; they are built on a stern defence and are generally a frustrating side to play against.
“That being said, the contrasting form of the two sides coupled in with a positive run at the back for Andy Whing’s team should lead to them emerging victorious.”
