Lincoln City are one of a host of League One clubs targeting Luton Town striker Joe Taylor on loan this month, according to Football Insider.
The 21-year-old joined League Two outfit Colchester United on a season-long deal in the summer and has been a massive hit at the JobServe Community Stadium. He has scored 12 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions, including four in his last seven appearances.
With the U’s fighting to maintain their place in the Football League, parent club Luton Town are set to recall the attacker from his temporary spell in Essex before sending him out on a fresh loan to League One.
Taylor joined the now-Premier League club last January from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut for the Hatters as a late substitute against Coventry City in February whilst he provided a dramatic cameo in the Championship play-off final against the same opposition in May.

Introduced in extra time, Taylor thought he had won the game when he slotted home deep in the second half, only to see his effort chalked off for handball. However, he kept his nerve to slot home his spot kick in the penalty shootout as Luton completed their fairytale return to the top tier.
The striker is now set to have his pick of options ahead of his next move, with Lincoln City hoping to convince the youngster to head for Sincil Bank. The Imps are currently in the midst of an injury crisis which includes attackers Reeco Hackett, Ben House and Tyler Walker. There is talk that manager Michael Skubala will recall Freddie Draper from Walsall, whilst Jack Moylan has now completed his transfer from Irish club Shelbourne.
According to the report, the East Midlands outfit are joined by at least half of League One in their pursuit of Taylor, including the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Oxford United and Wycombe Wanderers. It is unclear at this stage whether former club Peterborough United are one of the interested parties, despite the imminent exit of talisman Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Joe Taylor would be an excellent signing for Lincoln City, but they face a real fight to convince him to head for LN5 over some of the other options reportedly on the table for the youngster.
Bolton are a big club and one firmly in the hunt for the League One title, but the form of Dion Charles may mean he has to play second fiddle. Oxford are also pushing promotion, but Lincoln and Wycombe would surely be able to offer the most attractive option in terms of playing time.
