Premier League Giants Targeting Move For Derby County Attacker

Premier League trio Manchester United, Newcastle United and Chelsea are all monitoring the progress of Derby County wonderkid Cruz Allen, according to The Sun.

The 16-year-old is considered to be the crown jewel of the Rams academy and has three goals and three assists in seven Premier League under-18 appearances this season.

It isn’t just Derby who believe they have a gem on their hands, with Wales having included the youngster in their under 17 squad this season. He has shone whilst on international duty, hitting the back of the net on three occasions in his five caps to date.

It is this form that has caught the attention of the top flight giants. According to the reports, the Red Devils are keen on the versatile midfielder – who can also operate as a winger and striker. However, the 20-time English champions will face competition from division rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United.

It is claimed that as such, Derby are ‘bracing themselves’ for bids, although they will be hoping that they can convince the teenager to continue his development at Pride Park.

For now, Allen will be concentrating on attempting to earn his first senior appearance, but this speculation will be cause for concern for the East Midlands outfit.

On the pitch, Derby’s 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers saw them move up to sixth in League One as they continue to target a return to the Championship after a three year absence.

It is no surprise to see some of the biggest clubs in the country keeping an eye on Allen’s development. He looks a real prospect and the likes of Manchester United are renowned for nurturing young talent into their first team.

He isn’t a player that any of the interested parties will be looking at to make an immediate impact, although they clearly see the youngster as a player that will go on to have a big future in the game. As such, making a move now could secure his services, but Derby would be due hefty compensation for the first year scholar.
