Bolton Wanderers will welcome striker Victor Adeboyejo back to the squad for this weekend’s visit of struggling Carlisle United, according to The Bolton News.
The 25-year-old has five League One goals to his name this season, including a hat trick in the 3-1 win over Fleetwood Town in August. He has missed the last two fixtures after picking up a knee injury, although his absence did not upset the balance of the team as the Trotters picked up valuable wins over Port Vale and Stevenage.
Saturday’s victory over Steve Evans’ team saw them climb up to third, where they sit five points behind leaders Portsmouth and four behind second-placed Oxford United. However, Bolton have a game in hand over the pair and will be looking to keep the pressure on this weekend against a team which have recorded just the one win all season.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, manager Ian Evatt confirmed that Adeboyejo will return to the fold, although other absentees will not return until later this month;
“We have had a rough time with injuries and suspensions but the light is at the end of the tunnel, we can see the lads coming back, they are back on the grass and doing well. We just needed to find a way to win these games, and the last two we have managed, now we have one more big effort on Saturday.
“I think we will have Victor (Adeboyejo) back for the weekend, but I don’t think any of the others will be ready. I think we are looking at Northampton for them, probably barring Carlos Mendes Gomes, who is a week behind and his injury was slightly more serious than the others.
“But what we need is that one last burst before the break when we can get some bodies back, take stock of where we are, and get ready to give it a really good go again.”
Bolton’s League One clash against Barnsley next weekend has been postponed due to international call-ups, with Dion Charles and Eoin Toal selected for Northern Ireland whilst Josh Sheehan will join up with the Wales squad.

Bolton’s attacking talent is one of the main reasons as to why they are seen as one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Championship this season. Adeboyejo took time to adapt to life in the North West following his move from Burton Albion in January, but he took just three games to beat his goal tally from last season and looked to be getting into his stride.
The former Barnsley man looks to have struck up a good relationship with Dion Charles, although it will be interesting to see if Evatt sticks with Dan Nlundulu in the coming weeks, with the 24-year-old having deputised in Adeboyejo’s absence.
