Wolverhampton Wanderers’s Dexter Lembikisa has flown up the ranks of the Premier League side, with Burton Albion keeping a close eye on the defender for a loan move, according to Express & Star.
The talented youngster made his senior debut for Wolves earlier in the year, with the Midlands club open to the idea of letting him leave on loan next season.
Burton has been monitoring Lembikisa’s progress throughout the season, with several other Football League clubs interested in the player’s services.
The 19-year-old has had a year to remember, after featuring in a 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Leeds United back in November. Just three days later, the right-back continued his progress, appearing off the bench again in a Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Also making his senior debut for the Jamaica national team just last week, the teenager made good first impressions on former Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui, with the Spaniard electing to keep Lembikisa in the January transfer window, despite a number of clubs enquiring.
The League One club currently sit 18th in the league, with a relegation fight still on their hands. Sitting five points above the drop-zone, the Brewers do have a game in hand on multiple teams, however, are coming off a 5-2 thrashing to Peterborough United on Tuesday evening.
Burton has seen its defensive record drop over recent time, conceding 10 goals over their last three games in the month of March. While acquiring Lembikisa this season is not possible, the versatile full-back should improve them in that area if they are still interested in the Summer.

Lembikisa has had a quality season so far and Burton should definitely be interested if Wolves are willing to let him go in the Summer.
While he has only appeared four times for the Wanderers, impressing Lopetegui enough to keep him at the club shows the talent that he possesses. The only issue I could see for Burton is there may be better teams out there fighting with them.
The teenager potentially could attract attention from some Championship clubs, so staying up and remaining in League One, will be essential for the Brewers in getting the defender.
