FIFA is a football game series played by many people all around the world in many different countries on platforms such as PlayStation and Xbox, with career mode being one of the most popular game modes.
In a manager career mode save specifically, the aim is to take over a team and build them into the world’s next big juggernaut over many seasons, with clubs from League One and League Two tending to be popular with gamers for a ‘road to glory’ extended experience.
With that being said, in this article, I will be looking at five players that currently ply their trade in either League One or League Two who have some of the highest potential in their respective leagues that I feel will be worthy investments, whether that will be in the first season or later down the line.
I will be taking a look through the player’s key stats out of a possible rating of 99 as well as their in-game potential and a couple of honourable mentions at the bottom of every player in case you fancy looking at some alternatives.
The way this will be set out is more of a five-a-side team, with one goalkeeper, one defender, two midfielders and a striker being selected and recommended based on potential and all-round in-game ability.
With that being said, let’s take a look at five players that play in League One and League Two that have some of the highest potential in England’s lower leagues…
Goalkeeper – Michael Cooper (Plymouth Argyle) – 80 Potential
Kicking off this list is Plymouth Argyle stop-stopper Michael Cooper, who has a potential in-game rating of 80 overall.
The 22-year-old, who starts the save with an overall rating of 70, is the highest-rated goalkeeper that plays in either League One or League Two on FIFA and his notable stats include 72 for reflexes, 70 for diving, 69 for handling, 69 for positioning and 67 for kicking
Another potential goalkeeper to mention here is Carl Rushworth of Lincoln City on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, who starts as a 65 rated and has the potential to grow to an 80 overall.

Midfielder – Lewis Bate (Oxford United – on loan from Leeds United) – 80 Potential
One of the two midfielders on the list is in the form of Lewis Bate, who is on loan from Oxford United from Premier Leeds United.
The 20-year-old midfielder starts the save at an overall rating of 66, with room for him to grow to an 80 overall, with Bate’s best stats including the likes of 84 for balance, 76 for both acceleration and agility, 73 for sprint speed and 72 for short passing.
Another option that could be used instead of Bate is Derby County midfielder Jason Knight, in which the Rams midfielder has a potential of 75 after starting the save as a 69 overall. Another option is Ethan Galbraith of Salford City (on loan from Manchester United), with Galbraith having a potential of 74 after starting as a 64-rated midfielder.

Predominantly a wide player but a midfielder in this team is Louie Barry, who is currently out on loan at League Two Salford City on loan from Aston Villa of the Premier League.
The 19-year-old winger starts the save with an overall rating of 63 with the potential to grow to a 78 overall. Some of Barry’s key in-game stats involves the winger having 87 for agility, 86 for balance, 85 for acceleration and 83 for sprint speed.

Striker – Tom Bloxham (Shrewsbury Town) – 77 Potential
Leading the line as the striker for this team is Shrewsbury Town’s Tom Bloxham, who starts at a 61 overall with the potential to go to a 77-rated forward.
Some of the 19-year-old’s best in-game stats involve the likes of 80 for sprint speed, 74 for acceleration, 74 for strength and 73 for jumping. With Bloxham also standing at a height of 6’5, he is an ideal target-man-like striker with good pace and good strength and as well as that, he is available to pick up in the first season.
If you don’t like Bloxham, another striker to keep your eye on in League One is Exeter City striker Jay Stansfield, with the Fulham loanee starting with an overall rating of 64 and has the potential to grow up to an overall of 80.
Of course, another potential option to have is Dane Scarlett, who is currently on loan at Portsmouth from Tottenham Hotspur. Scarlett starts the save as an overall rated of 64 with plenty of room to grow as high as an 83-rated striker.
