‘More lives than a cat’, ‘Shambolic’ – Many Bristol Rovers fans have had enough after latest defeat

Bristol Rovers woes under manager Ben Garner continued as they were beaten at home by struggling Shrewsbury Town.

The visitors suffered defeat to relegation-haunted Tranmere in midweek, with neither side looking convincing in this tie. It was left to former Telford man Daniel Udoh to break the deadlock; a driving run by Ro-Shaun Williams presented him with a chance he buried from 20 yards.

In tough conditions, the game was hard to watch at times. Jamal Blackman was the more active keeper in the opening period, preventing Udoh from opening the scoring and denying Callum Lang.

The home fans had little to cheer, one second-half header from Alfie Kilgour the sum of their positive intent. Before Udoh scored the decisive goal.

When the final whistle sounded, boos rang out around the Memorial Stadium, with manager Ben Garner undoubtedly the focus of their anger. The Gas are still 14th with 42 points, which should be enough to assure safety, but they’ve won once in 17 matches across all competitions and that’s causing huge concern for these supporters.
