Salford City are on the verge of signing Lincoln City winger Bruno Andrade as reported by Lincolnshire Live.
Imps boss Michael Appleton confirmed the news in his morning press conference stating it was a ‘done deal’ and would probably be confirmed later today.
The former Oxford boss also said he was happy with the fee the Imps are receiving for a player in the last six months of his contract with a League Two winners medal in his locker from 2018/19.
Andrade scored eleven goals and contributed eight assists as the Imps stormed to the League Two title, but he now looks set to depart Sincil Bank.
The twenty-six-year-old has made twenty-three appearances in all competitions this season, finding the net twice, including one of the goals of the competition in Lincoln’s second round EFL Cup tie with Everton back in August.
The Portuguese-born forward came through the ranks at QPR with Raheem Sterling before drifting into non-league. Thirty-four goals in two years at Boreham Wood persuaded Lincoln’s previous manager Danny Cowley to give him another shot at the EFL in 2018.
Our View
If Andrade’s destination is Salford, they have got a player who will once again terrorise League Two defenders.
Andrade outstanding season in Lincoln’s title-winning campaign had seen him linked with a move to Portsmouth in the summer
While it may be a surprise to Lincoln fans Andrade is dropping down a level, the Ammies owners are obviously investing heavily in the team with League One football the objective.
Our view is having seen a lot of Andrade; this would be a real statement of intent by Salford.
