Colchester United boss John McGreal has revealed the player he fears most ahead of the U’s clash with Scunthorpe United Saturday.
And it is a player well known to McGreal after he spent time on loan in Essex last season. Abo Eisa made fourteen appearances for Colchester in the second half of 2019/20, scoring twice and he’s now in hot form for the Iron who he signed for permanently in the summer from Shrewsbury Town.
The twenty-three-year-old has scored three goals in his last two games and will be a player McGreal knows he will have to stop if the U’s are to leave Lincolnshire with a positive result. Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph, he said: ‘Abs Eisa did brilliant for us, and he’s doing really well for Scunthorpe, at the minute.’
‘He’s scoring goals, and we know what a threat he is but they’ve got some good players throughout.’
McGreal’s men travel north in good form themselves having won five of their last eight matches. It should be a cracking encounter at Glanford Park, something acknowledged by McGreal. ‘it’s two in-form teams going at it and hopefully we’ll come out of it with the win,’ he added optimistically.
Could be the game of the day in League Two and in Abo Eisa Scunthorpe might be the difference between two good sides.
It should also be noted Colchester might have one eye on Wednesday’s EFL Cup quarter-final visit to Old Trafford and for that reason we predict the Iron to continue their good run.
