Lincoln City have issued a statement denying they have received any official approach for their management team, Danny and Nicky Cowley.
Commenting on the club’s unprecedented success over the last three years the statement said: ‘The accolades for our management team have been thoroughly deserved and it is understandable if they attract the attention of clubs at a higher level.’
‘However, we have had no official approach from any club to speak with Danny and Nicky.’
‘The board talk regularly with Danny and Nicky who remain totally committed and focused on preparations for next season in our new adventure in League 1.’
The announcement comes in the wake of an ITV news report last night which claimed Championship club West Bromwich Albion had opened talks with the pair over their vacant managerial position.
While the statement will go some way to alleviating Imp’s fans concerns, it is unlikely to stop media speculation over the future of their talented management team.
Lincoln fans soon took to Twitter delighted with the news which will, for now, ease their concerns in what is likely to be a long and interesting summer for the recently crowned League Two champions.
Here is a selection of their responses to the statement with some West Brom fans also reacting to the news.
