Gillingham Football Club’s latest social media post has revealed the club are on the lookout for a harpist.
At a time of year when clubs are generally looking out for a twenty-goal a season striker and appealing for long-suffering fans to renew their season ticket, the Kent club posted a job advert on its Twitter feed for someone with talent and skill of the more musical variety.
A club spokesman told BBC Sport: ‘We’re looking at a variety of different things which will enhance the entertainment in our corporate areas for specified fixtures next season, and this is potentially one of them.’
The Gills are currently looking for a new permanent manager as well as a harpist after they finished the League One season in thirteenth place. The team flirted with relegation for much of the campaign and the failure of Steve Lovell to get a tune out of his squad ultimately cost him his job.
Nonetheless, despite a disappointing season, many Gills supporters appeared in good spirits when they took to Twitter to respond to the Tweet, no doubt confident they can string a better set of results together next season under a yet to be confirmed new conductor.
Here is a selection to their responses to the Tweet.
